Never Stay at Residence de bourgogne
The owner runs an adjacent restaurant. He took us to a door behind a plant on the sidewalk and punched in a four digit code to let us in. We had to climb the two flights of stairs to our room on our own. He didn't show us around. It was a small dark room with a double bed and a tiny single bed. Immediately after putting our luggage in the room, we needed to speak with the owner about a few things. As we wanted to exit the main door, we found that there was no way to get out. There was no latch on the door. There were two buttons on the wall that we pressed but nothing seemed to work. We knocked on the door from the inside but there was no response from the outside. My daughter nearly had a panic attack. She called the police who were of no significant help. Then we heard some noised on the outside. We knocked on the door again. Somebody said that the owner is coming to open the door from the outside. The he showed us one of the buttons on the wall that he pressed once and then pulled the door open. We accused him of not telling us anything about how his place worked. We left the place within less than one hour of our checking in. Then we booked another hotel near the Eiffel Tower where we stayed for the rest of our visit. We are so highly, highly, angry at our horrible experience that we want our money back.

1st Paris Trip
Location: From Paris bercy, we used Metro line and after exit, there is 2 minute walk to the hotel. Not easily located. Good thing I saved a street shot because hotel's name is totally FADED. Reception and entrance is nowhere to found. Staff from the restaurant was the receptionist. WIFI: none. Told the staff, no action. Staffs: NOT MULTILINGUAL (multilingual as advertised, not true). one of the reasons I booked this hotel is because they said they are multi lingual. Need to use google translate but they can hardly understand. Spoke with customer service regarding booking changes but even the agent did not manage to speak and sort things because hotel staff can't speak English. Room: Clean when we arrived. No foul smell. Heating is off and not functioning properly. Sheets are clean. Staff cleans the room every day. We expect that they will ask permission prior entering the room because our things are in there. When we arrived room is clean already. Checked if they change the sheets, NO. Toilet: Small space for shower area. Water from the shower leaks outside the toilet door. We need to close the shower curtain so the water won't come out. Kitchen: Stove, fridge and microwave are working. Utensils are only for 2 people, not clean and very greasy. Needed to buy dishwashing soaps. Toiletries: Only 3 shower gels and 1 small soap for 3 people for the entire stay (3days). No toothbrush no slippers. Towels that were given were not bath towels.

Horrible Service
While this hotel was overall clean and nicely kept, the issue we had was with the staff. There was absolutely no instruction on how to check in, which normally wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that this hotel has no front desk or main entrance, and we almost could not figure out how to make it to our room. The check in is at a restaurant beneath the hotel, which is very clearly the number one priority of the owners. We had several issues with the staff, who continuously brushed us off to perform restaurant-related duties. On several occasions, the Wifi broke, which was the only means by which we had to communicate with our families. Telling the staff this, they simply shrugged and said that there was nothing they could do about it. We were treated quite rudely and with complete indifference. Furthermore, one of the reasons we had initially booked the hotel was due to the fact that it had listed that the staff was multilingual, which would have been very beneficial in terms of getting around and figuring out what we should do during our time in Paris. However, this staff was in no way multilingual - they only spoke French and made no effort to understand us in anyway. I would not recommend staying here - it was very frustrating and made the stay much more stressful than it should have been.

The worst hotel experience ever!
I booked and paid for this room in advance. When we arrived we were told that there was no room for us due to water sistem failure. Recepcionist who hardly spoke English told us to go to a different hotel which was booked for us. I was 30 weeks pregnant and was completely tired. We were informed that we need to get there on our own!!! Hotel was more than 20 min by walk and 10 min by taxi. We had to pay for the taxi on our own! Knowing that hotel and other things were already paid we had no cash, just cards. Taxi driver did not accept cards and we needed to find a cash machine. Room in a new hotel had no kitchenette with refrigerator, stovetop and microwave ( it was supposed to be in a our first booked place) and location was different which made a big difference to me. No one called me in advance to inform about the situation. Just in the evening I saw that message that was sent in French ( I cannot speak French and I even had no internet access). After translating it was just written that room is booked in a different hotel. No expaination or apologies"! If we had known we would not have come at all to Paris ( we came just to stay one night). It had been the worst hotel experience ever! Good thing is that we got a partial refund as an apology from hotels.com

Our stay at this hotel was not very pleasing! The “front desk was inside a restaurant that was below the hotel. We arrived about 45 minutes before check in and the manager wasn’t there. We ended up having to do the check in with one of the guys from the restaurant. Communication was a disaster! The guy called the hotel manager and we ended up doing the check in over the phone, the guy gave us the keys for the room. We get to the room and the room is just ok. The bed is sunken in the middle. We were in a hurry since we had a tour so we left the room ASAP. Just dropped off our stuff in the room and left. When we got back we noticed the room was REALLY cold and we could hear noise from outside. One of the window hinges was broken and the window looked like it was about to fall off! It was 1 am and no one we could go to, to address this! We managed to make it stick to the wall and just dealt with it for the 2 nights we were there. The towels were TERRIBLE! They were very rough and smelled like they had been used before. Also had a few stains on them. We had to check out at 6am so we just left the key in the room since couldn’t talk to anyone. We’re not picky people but we wouldn’t stay here again. The location was not that great. It felt unsafe at night to walk around. The only person we met the whole time that worked for the hotel was the maid and during our whole stay. If the restaurant hadn’t been open we would wave been screwed! Pay a little more and get something better!
