Don’t get stuck in the shower
You just have to know what you’re paying for. This is a beautiful, mostly quiet residential area close to the Eiffel Tower and Invalides. There are several grocery stores and cafes on Rue Saint Dominique. But the room, like all European hotel rooms, is extremely tiny. It’s just enough room to open up a single luggage at any time. You’ll have to be creative to open more than one. The shower is the worst part. It’s not designed for humans. Squeezing into the cubicle is difficult and turning around is basically impossible. But if you’ve ever traveled in Europe, you know what to expect. Basically, it’s fair value for a tiny hotel in a good location.

Authentic Parisian charm!
Hotel Malar was a quaint slice of Paris. If you're expecting the Hilton or a traditional US hotel this is not it and that isn't a bad thing. The hotel is very nichey, eclectic and charmingly rustic. It was fantastic value for the money. The rooms and bathrooms are very small but based on our travels that feels to be the European way. There was no AC but I was perfectly comfortable with an open window into the cute courtyard below and the provided fan -again, seems very typical in the EU when staying outside a Hilton or Marriot. The rooms are very clean. The beds were comfortable. The front desk girl was exceptionally welcoming and spoke English very well. We were pleasantly greeted with a big smile, a map, and restaurant recommendations. We had fast wifi, fresh towels and a safe to store money and passports. You can't beat the location either, we walked everywhere without problems. In 5 minutes we were at the back of the Eiffel Tower in a small park where there were no tourists (would recommend seeing it over there instead of the front). They held our bags for the day when we checked out which was very nice. The one thing I would have wished was different was for conditioner to be provided in the hotel, we had a shampoo/body wash. Otherwise, fantastic stay with very authentic feeling Parisian charm!

Odd place to stay
Staff is not friendly or nice, do not like to answer questions. They require you leave room key at front desk when you are out of building. Shower is so small, can hardly fit in it. Bed very uncomfortable and TV is limited.
