Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was located right next to the terminal & the rental car return station. So this made it easier for us as we did not have to walk too far after returning the car after a long day from driving. The room was big and spacious and quiet despite being next to the car park and the terminal. Bed and pillows were comfortable and we had a goid night’s rest."

Rydges Australia Square

8/10 Good
"Contactless check-in felt cold and unwelcoming. Room was very small for a premier King, but it was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Limited space for two large suitcases. Also no welcome drink provided as promised (we're Rydges card members). Tv had no streaming only guest app login only, despite their home page advertising inhouse movies. Not even the maintenance man knew about the latter. Front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful when we approached them about queries. Cocktail bar was closed on Saturday night (we stayed Thurs - Mon). The best thing about the hotel was it's close proximity to all the tourist spots, being walkable distances and close to transport. Our room view was bleak (a building directly across and street below). Maybe show this on the advertised photos? Gym facilities were apparently a shared use of an "Anytime Fitness" gym just around the corner. We never found this gym. Staff didn't ask how our stay was when we checked out, instead just demanded our room number, and that was it. The shower door in our bathroom squeaked every time you opened and closed it. The housekeeping was very good. Overall I was disappointed with this hotel experience. I probably wouldn't stay here in future, despite it's fantastic location."

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable period to visit Sydney is from May to July, when hotel prices are typically lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city’s key landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. During your visit, you can explore the iconic Sydney Opera House, enjoy the stunning architecture around the Harbour, and take in the vibrant art scene at local museums. Don't miss the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful gardens, indulge in some shopping, or savour a meal at one of the delightful dining spots. Additionally, a ferry ride across the harbour offers a unique perspective of the city, making it a great value for money experience.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Sydney, you may start by exploring the Deals and Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where discounted rates on nearby accommodations could be available as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and exclusive promotions, ensuring you don't miss a chance to save. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a useful comparison tool within the app that allows you to assess hotel prices and amenities, so you’re more likely to spot the best offers before booking your spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a Sydney hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest more affordable dates, increasing the likelihood that you'll secure a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, with Sydney's superb public transport network, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel located further out that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations may provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
