Exploring Hong Kong
Stooped in historic culture alongside modern arts and festivals, Hong Kong still thrives in celebrating its history and traditions. With a city that must rise vertically rather than expand in width, panoramic views are something Hong Kong specializes in. What’s more the modern buildings themselves are something the city prides itself in, and has plenty of. However, historical temples are still national treasures and fascinating places to visit.

Sightseeing in Hong Kong
At the heart of Hong Kong is Victoria Harbour, separating Kowloon from Hong Kong Island on the edge of the South China Sea. The natural land formed harbor boasts glittering lights and has always been instrumental to Hong Kong’s central trade. During the British colonial reign it was the central area and it is still an important factor for trade today. It’s also the best place for an early morning free Tai Chi class overlooking the calming waters with Master Ng.
- Kowloon
With plenty of shops, amenities and views on offer, Kowloon is right in the middle of the action, ideal if shopping is the main entry on your itinerary. There are the huge shopping centers, temple street market and the ladies market nearby. The airport bus and metro lines are very close, so when heading home, the extra shopping is manageable! This area is often a favorite with first time tourists due to its convenience.
Transportation in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a pleasant place to explore on foot, but taking in the entire city in this way can take some time. Fortunately, there are plenty of trams and buses available to take visitors around the city.
Most visitors arrive at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), which is the main gateway to this part of the world. The airport is situated on Chek Lap Kok Island, which is connected to Hong Kong Island by rail and the journey takes less than half an hour. It is also possible to travel from the airport by bus and ferry, while bridges and ferries connect Hong Kong Island with a number of surrounding islands.
