Baking Hot Box Room
Awful. We didn't sleep all night as the air con was not working on our floor, but instead of telling us at check-in, or even on the first time I rang reception I had to find out from one of the night staff, by which point there were no fans left to borrow. There was one more room we could have moved to but it stank of sick. So instead we opted to stay in our baking hot room. We had to leave the door open to the hallway to cool it slightly. The lady on the reception at night was one of the rudest I've ever come across. she actually said 'I don't know what else you expect me to do'. I feel robbed that I even had to pay for this hotel room. I won't be staying at a Holiday Inn again. Stay away it its hot, lots more choice in the area.

Poor 2.0
Poor attitude
Hotel room was clean, the hotel it’s self is a little tired and well used. One problem we did have was we booked two “Double” rooms. We only entered one guest name on the double rooms so when we came in late at night one of my friends had his mate stay with him as we had too many beers (not drunk) for him to drive home. Security would not let his friend in saying “only one name on booking” we argued saying we’ll hang on we have paid for a double room let us use it. He was adamant that he would not let another guest in. And that only a single person can use the double room. A rant to the hotel manager whilst our friend stayed outside as they would physically not let him in resulted in them finally agreeing that we can put two people in the double room. Poor service from the hotel won’t stay again. It’s a holiday In not the ritz! Couple that with a £50 damage deposit on arrival. They obviously expect their guests to get upto no good. Avoid and stay in another brand of hotel.

A mixed bag...
The good: * for the location, the price was very competitive, and the ability to park overnight at a pretty reasonable price is a major plus * the hot breakfast items were great * comfortable beds and a well-appointed room The not-so-good: * the mouldiest bathroom I've ever seen in a major hotel in the western hemisphere, plus grout falling out of the floor tiles, and a toilet that sort-of flushed * no evident signage to show how to find reception when you arrive (it's in the basement) * coffee from the machine at breakfast was far worse than even my fairly low expectations of hotel breakfast coffee * cold breakfast selection was pretty thin * I know this isn't the fault of the hotel, but the homeless people scattered around the pavement outside didn't give a great feeling of the area, and makes you wonder about the security of the parking.

Very good 8.0
Then location is great. It is within easy walking distance to the metro station at Oxford Road, restaurants, pubs, and the town hall plaza. The breakfast was great, and the desk agents were friendly. The first room they assigned to us had a broken A/C unit, which made the room very hot, as it got direct sunlight. we asked to change, and they only had a room with a double bed and a pull out sofa, which was not the 2 double beds we had booked. The sleeper sofa was not comfortable at all, but at least the air conditioning worked. Maybe this is a UK thing, but I noticed that the housekeeping staff never made the bed or straightened up each day. They would only come in and replace towels and pull trash. The same thing happened inn Ireland as well, so I’m guessing it is a UK|Ireland thing, as I have traveled all over the world and never seen that. Overall, it was a good value for the money, and I would stay again.

Terrable beds
I travel somewhat alot and i this is the first negative review i write for years. But this hotel really needs to invest in some new beds, they are terrible. We started off getting a bedroom where one leg was missing under the bed, so we when down to the lobby, complained and got another room, that room had a door that connected to the next room that wasn´t to our liking so we moved again. To be clear the staff was understanding and this was never a problem. I lied down in each of these beds though and they all had it in common that they were long-time overdue in needing an update. Now here´s the thing my sister was also with us on this trip and had the room next to the first one that we got (the one with the bed with the broken leg. Later in the day when we went over to her room we noticed that some other poor couple had recived the room with the broken leg... so be careful to let them know if you´re unhappy as they seem fine with checking if you´ll complain or not...
