Not a pleasant hotel
This place is not ready for the public yet, the room is very dated, the windows are very old and damaged, the carpet was disgusting, the bed sheets were not changed from the previous visit. The shower was not comfortable either. The gym was good, and the staff seemed friendly, but the hotel needs a major uplift to justify the room rates they are charging

A long 18 nights
Unfortunately this is a very tired hotel. The cleanliness was poor and it took me 3 days to get my room cleaned after workmen had been in, leaving dust over my bed and table. I appreciate it was during lockdown but the hotel offered no concessions or help. I had to go out and buy a microwave for my room

2.5 not 4 Star
For the room only as I had no meals, not 4 star more 2.5 at most. Negative - Tired rooms: carpet looks dirty, crack in sink room 214, 1 bar (zero) phone signal O2 and 3, no socket near bed for phone Plus - Staff amazing, free paking, nice big 40" TV

It was good. The food was good and the rooms were clean but I do feel like the hotel has an old-fashioned feel. As in, you don’t feel like you’re in a 4 star hotel - maybe 3. I went on a solo trip - it was definitely good for my getaway. A little bit far from St Albans town but all good still enjoyed myself

We had a really lovely last minute stay pre-second lockdown. The staff were all extremely friendly and polite, and it was great to use the pool and spa facilites - all of which were working and clean.

Not returning again
The rooms need a HUGE improvement, ceiling paint is falling off, the furnitures need replacement, the tea kettle is leaking, the floor makes noice when walking, carpet needs replacing. The spa facilities are good but one of the member of staff was racist. The corridors smell like dead rat, the beds are uncomfortable.

Not happy
The room/hotel did not look as it did in the photos. When I initially rang up the hotel I was told both the jacuzzi and pool were opened but when I got to the hotel only the pool was opened. The room I stayed in was not appealing either and the shower was broken, it sprayed water everywhere. The receptions were hardly at the front desk and there was a wedding reception there that had more than 6 persons after the bride had left. This went on until 2am.

great staff, terrible nights sleep
Staff were friendly and helpful. The public areas of the hotel are fine but the bedroom was just shabby and dated. The carpet was worn, peeling door in the bathroom and you could feel the springs in the mattress. Food in the bar in the evening was simply awful.
