The Old Montreal neighborhood runs along the waterfront, east of Downtown, in the Ville-Marie borough. The crown jewel of the area is the breathtaking Notre-Dame Basilica. Built in Neo-Gothic style, the Basilica’s magnificent interior features a deep blue ceiling dotted with thousands of 24-carat gold stars, as well as intricate stained-glass windows.
On Rue Bonsecours, one of Montreal’s oldest streets, you’ll find the city’s earliest church—Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel—and the Bonsecours Market. The Palladian-style market building was once Montreal’s City Hall, and today it houses a selection of upscale fashion and craft boutiques and several restaurants.

Excellent hostel for the price plus free breakfast! Rooms are great. Washrooms aren't great, a little bit of effort needed from the staff to keep it clean. Apart from that, a great place to stay,

When arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were organized and prepared. My room was co-ed with bunk beds and lockers- pretty basic. All of the guests were respectful and the bathrooms were clean! Breakfast was good, bread and bagles for toast and lots of condiments to choose from. The kitchen was available if you needed to cook. I would recommend this hostel!

Awesome little hostel in a great location. For the money you can’t go wrong! Tried a couple of others in Montreal and this was best by far

Incredible location for a budget stay, right in the heart of Old Montreal but far enough away from the real hustle and bustle to avoid too much street noise. Predominantly a young persons hostel, so lots of late night coming and going and a lively (small) common area, so bring your ear plugs and a mask if youre a light sleeper. The young staff do a GREAT job of keeping the place clean - showers and bathrooms were always spotless, and they manage to somehow keep on top of the dishes in the kitchen despite the kids never clearing up after themselves (honestly, what do their parents teach them :) ) WiFi is solid, and showers are hot and powerful. Beds are stacked 3-high and are comfortable, room has AC, but lack of a light or any power sockets by the bed mean charging your stuff is a pain. Breakfast consists of fresh bagels or bread with a selection of spreads, plus tea and coffee. I didn’t cook for myself but the kitchen is decent, if not a little small for the number of guests (which means the fridge gets pretty overloaded) and there’s a 4-ring hob and microwave. All in all all though, if you’re on a budget STAY HERE (I tried a couple of other places and they were nowhere near as good)

The good: good location, cheap, and nice staff. The bad: can be loud, beds are a bit uncomfy, bathrooms are stall based and small, and cleanliness is moderate. There are nicer hostels in the area, but may cost a little bit more.

The temperatures at night got really hot despite a fan blowing. I don't think any cooling was happening despite them claiming to have an AC. All the guys in the room slept only in their underwear because of it. Otherwise, it's a cute place and the facilities are very clean and functional
