    Never coming back.
    My room was great! Everything else was frustrating!!! I arrived to a 35 minute line just to check in to my room. I thought maybe it was just a busy time but it seemed to be that way almost my entire stay. I had to wait 15 minutes the next day just to ask a question. It took them 2 phone calls and 3 hours to bring my luggage to my room. I would have been happy to bring it myself but was told I couldn't bring the cart up on my own. After checking in there was another 10 minute wait just to use the elevators to get to my room. They have a lack of elevators for the velocity of the hotel. You are always waiting for an elevator no matter what time of day or wether you are going up or down. Sometimes so many people are waiting you have to wait for the second elevator to arrive. Once you get on the elevator it is usually packed with other people and then proceeds to stop at almost every floor on the way up and down. It was incredibly frustrating! There were also tons and tons of children shouting and running around like they were in their playroom at home through the hotel. don't even think about trying to use the pool or lounge area. It's like spring break for children under 10. Not a seat available the entire time and kids splashing and screaming as if other adults who didn't bring their children don't exist. Aside from this the hotel lobby, exterior and hallways are very dated.

    Exceptional 10.0
    Pros: The property was chosen for 3 reasons, modern amenities, price, and location. We we not disappointed. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and after a long day of walking and getting to know Montréal, it was nice to come home and relax. The son loved the pool, the daughter loved the bed, and the wife and I enjoyed a cocktail. Cons: We had made our reservation to arrive Friday evening and to check out Monday, but we car trouble (flat tire) on the way up from New Jersey, and our arrival was delayed by 12 hours, while we waited for a service station to open and repair our tire. So instead of arriving at 2 AM Saturday, we arrived at 2 PM. It was unsettling to be told that we were early, that check-in isn’t guaranteed until after 4 PM, when we are paying from the night before. The service agent was able to get us to a room right away, but it took some insistence. The second issue is that my daughter found a pair of expensive wireless headphones in the room, that obviously belonged to a previous guest. She knows they don’t belong to her and brought them down to the reception desk. When she asked what the policy is and if unclaimed after a certain time, she hoped that she might get to keep them, she was disappointed to hear that they will donated to charity.

    Exceptional 10.0
    I love this property. It is worth the struggle through traffic to get to it. The friendly service starts with the valet. Check in was delightful with warm chocolate chip cookies and happy faces. The room was perfect and clean. The food and drinks in the restaurant/bar were outstanding in both taste and presentation. We were dissappointed we couldn't go out on the terrace since it had rained earlier. We had so looked forward to that. It was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. The breakfast buffet in the morning was overpriced, bland and the peppers in the freshly prepared omelet tasted funny. The sausages were dry and tasteless. The melon pieces weren't that good (not ripe). The toaster took forever to toast and had to have 2 rounds. The coffee tasted old even though it was in a carafe. Everyone who had the buffet included with their room probably didn't care but we were charged $50 for two plus tip and tax for a breakfast quite the opposite of their dining fare which was worth every penny. Tip 1: Book this Hotel Tip 2: Only eat breakfast there if it's included. All the staff in this hotel are super friendly and very attentive.

    We check-in earlier, they were nice to let us use the pool service, they said we were on the queue to be called when the room would be ready, at 3:50 I went back and the guy said, but it’s not 4:00 yet! I said we had reservation at a restaurant and a show at 7:00. So they had rooms ready , same as we ask but on another floor, I never asked for a specific floor. They could have call me and give us that room! They had water station, at 35C outside, but they were empty all the time, some people were asking to refill them, they would say later. The doors of the rooms need a good paint job. Overall for almost 300$ a night, I would say a 5 stars, only 4. The check out was awful and people start leaving there keys to a bellboy instead of waiting. During the jazz festival, long American week-end, more staff would have been appreciated.

    When we checked into our room, the room was never vacuumed. There were toe clippings (roughly 4) right beside the bed and window. Pictures were taken, and brought this to the attention of the hotel staff( front desk clerk and her Supervisor, even emailed the pictures to the Supervisor) without any action until the next morning. The actual action was taken by us, by asking a maid to come in and vacuum our room. She was very nice and polite and cleaned it ASAP. We gave her a tip even though we were not leaving for another 2 days. Very disappointed with the lack of follow up and customer service. I under that we booked the reservations under, but it was their brand they needed to uphold and make sure I was a satisfied customer. I will not be returning to The Double Tree.
