Meh for the Mahekal
If you are looking for beautiful grounds, and a rustic getaway, this is great. But not 5 start worth.
Staff was nice, facility was clean. Rooms were comfortable. The walking area outside the hotel was really neat.
Cons to note:
If you have a car, don't stay here. They don't have parking. You have to park on the street and pay a parking meter only with coins (no bills or c.card) no joke. It's an enormous burden.
Beach: Their beach is approximately 20feet wide x 10 feet deep. No kidding. Above the beach they have some nice palms and loungers on their garden area, but it's not on the sandy beach.
Room keys: They are the plastic card type, we asked for 2, and they said sorry we're out. So we ended up sharing one key for 5 days.
Reservation: We asked for 2 beds and that was on the reservation. At checkin, they didn't have any ??? so my adult son and I slept on the same bed.
TV - they don't have TVs in the room. If you want a rustic getaway, that's probably ok. But if not, it's a little spartan.
POOLS and GYM - they close super early.
