Located up a steep 45 degree hill, so take the hotel up on their offer when they say they will pick you up! 400m doesn’t seem far until you drag luggage up that hill in 32 degrees Celsius heat and humidity!
Booked as a break from the city, and to get views of Mount Fuji from the cable car ride accessible from the nearby station.
Loved our stay! Room food and staff all excellent.
We should have booked longer to explore the area in more detail and loved relaxing in the open air bath.

The Japanese yakuta dress in this property is such a great experience! Also the breakfast is very special, with special eggs and rice. There is a bath tub outside of the balcony of our room, which has a Mountain View, def exceeded my expectation, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes quality and the extra care!

Treated like royalty
We absolutely LOVED our stay! This was our first ryokan experience during our recent trip to Japan and it couldn't have been better! Staff exceeded expectations and were incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive. Our room was perfect and had more than what we needed. My only disappointment is that we couldn't stay longer! It was in a great location right by Hakone Gora Park and very easy commute to nearby restaurants. We didn't end up having dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was great and am very glad we got to experience a traditional Japanese breakfast. We got to use the hot stone spa which was a wonderful and unexpected treat! Would highly recommend.

Wonderful Getaway
Great experience. Creative and delicious dining experiences in a relaxing and friendly environment. In-house onsen was well appointed including an inside and outside bath. The hotel is conveniently located near Gora station and Gora Park.

Good service but overpriced
The service is good and the staffs are very friendly. However, the room is a bit out dated and the open air bath is tiny. There is no wifi in the room, only available in the lobby.
Food was very average. The Japanese dishes were good but the fusion ones less so.

Comfy bed, ok for a 1 night stay
The room was incredibly small with barely any room to open a suitcase. No personal shower in the room. Must use the public bath for showering/bathing.

Great room. Great hotel facilities. Very helpful and friendly staff. Only thing I would caution as a 'Westerner' is that you don't get a choice of Japanese/Western style breakfast. For us this wasn't a problem, it was quite a good experience, but some may find it difficult being faced with fish and rice in the morning.
