    We would stay again

The hotel is only a few minutes walk from Hakone-yumoto station. It can be seen from the station. Service was great and efficient. The room was spacious. Bathroom had everything we needed. There's a busy shopping street near the hotel though all the shops are not open at night time except for 7-eleven so if you want to have dinner at night it's best to dine in at the hotel. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would stay again if we come back to Hakone next time.

Beautiful stay in Japanese small town

We enjoyed the Japanese spa baths and loved seeing the beautiful sights surrounding the hotel. There was no wifi in guest rooms unfortunately which was the main downfall. And the restaurants were quite pricey but this was to be expected. Loved the kimono gowns that we got to wear around the hotel.

The hotel is so close to the station. Staffs are very friendly. The hot spring is nice and very cheap if you want to go private.

    Very accommodative staff

The Yumoto Fujiya is a very short walk across a bridge from the Hakone Yumoto station. The onsen was refreshing. The hotel staff was very accommodative. My wife was not comfortable with the smoking room and they managed to move us to a non-smoking room the next day without much hassle.

    Very comfortable and very convenient.

This hotel is really close to the train station and main street of Hakone which saved us time and energy in getting around and acquiring any essentials. The hotel itself has many amenities and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we could not get WiFi or Mobile phone service in our room, and the breakfast service was quite early and of a short duration only. We would happily recommend this hotel to other travellers...

Wish we had stayed a second night !

Great hotel location across bridge from Yumoto Station. Set on hillside with lift access from street level. Gorgeous views of green mountainside out our window. Bathroom great and twin room large enough with seat and small table good for having dinner in our room. Public bath in hotel great and Outdoor Onsen beautiful (can only comment on female one). Great base for doing the Hakone "tourist loop" on route to Tokyo. Suggest staying 2 nights if time. Lovely little village with a couple of restaurants, bakery and convenience store further up the hill selling fresh Japanese food, will heat meals up in store for you to take back to hotel. Loved our stay.

    Luxurious and Spacious

A beautiful hotel in a great spot! Hakone is beautiful in the rain as much as the sun. The Fujiya Yumoto is luxurious and spacious, especially compared to Tokyo accommodation. There is a $39 travel pass that gives you access to all of the local attractions (train, cable car, rope-way, boats, buses etc), it lasts 2 days and was well worth it. I also recommend the Open Air Museum, I am not into museums and I really enjoyed it! Hakone is pretty quiet at night, so I'd recommend checking out Odawara (15min by train) if you are keen for some nightlife.
