4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Madrid

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Madrid is during January, February, and August when hotel prices are generally lower. For a fulfilling experience that allows you to appreciate the city’s rich history and culture, staying for at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. This timeframe provides ample opportunity to explore key landmarks such as historic monuments, renowned museums, vibrant theatre, and captivating architecture, as well as enjoy budget-friendly shopping and charming cafés. By planning your visit during these months, you can take advantage of the great value for money while immersing yourself in the cultural essence of Madrid.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Madrid, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on accommodation as your travel date approaches. To maximise your chances of securing great offers, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications for updates on flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you identify potential savings on cheap Madrid accommodation. With these resources, you're more likely to catch great deals and make the most of your trip.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a hotel in Madrid. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and sometimes greater value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is relatively high, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more economical, helping you to secure the best possible deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Madrid's superb public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel located further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
