Enjoyed Golden Gate's uniqueness
This place isn't for picky people. We loved how antique it is. You can open the windows and I suppose you can climb out but we didn't test it out. Our room was behind the Golden Gate sign

Nice Room Great Value . . .
Enjoyed my room. A Little trip back in time. Nicely cleaned. Good linens and towels. Short on TV Channels but who goes to Las Vegas for TV. Good parking with the room. Main St. side room so zooming motorbikes at 3am. Interior room probably better for sleeping. I know this is Vegas and it's loud and raucous but didn't understand why the casino music had to be so loud. Especially at registration. The poor desk clerk had to repeat herself 3 times. I enjoyed the room but every time I stepped off the elevator I just wanted to flee the casino the music was so loud. I guess they wanted to chase away all the dead ghosts. Overall the rates I had were a terrific value ! I hope to come back again.

Scariest hotel in vegas
Been to vegas many times, and ive stayed in almost every hotel. My job had me staying near Fremont street so eneded up staying at The Golden Gate. My advise if this is your only option, sleep in your car or a park bench. 1st the hotel clerk made me feel unwelcomed and an inconvenience. 2nd she gave me earplugs, saying your on the noise side, good luck. 3rd the room was small and the bathroom was the size of a storage closet. 4th the casino gives off a sleazy gangster vibe, type of place where if you win a huge jackpot where they either dont payout or you mysteriously disappear.

The staff wonderful. The condition of the hotel and its historical significance, phenomenal. The fact that we could not sleep because the property owner wants the casino to have a “night club vibe” horrendous. Our room was RIGHT ABOVE the high roller tables. We heard EVER WORD of the songs that played until 6 AM. There was a tiny window until 10 of silence and then it started ALL OVER AGAIN. All they have to do is turn the music in the casino down a couple notches and I would have enjoyed my stay. Do not stay here if you actually want to sleep. If you want to have a 24 hr party, this is the place to be.

Normal place I stay. Have been going since the free shrimp cocktail days. Not the same with staff. Valet guy burning rubber in my truck. The guy with the dreads. Otherwise the normal place is still the same. Just a guy trying to tear your car up is not cool. Should have put hands on him as they say. If the guy with dreads comes out ask for another person to drive your car or you will feel like going hands free.

6/10 Good

Disappointed in the stay at Golden Gate. The room was advertised as 250 square feet. The room I got was close to 100 square feet. Barely enough room to walk around and the shower was the smallest I've ever seen, very little space. The toilet leaked to the point I had to shut off the water when it wasn't used. And the music blared all night. I can could clearly hear it thumping. Got some sleep despite that, but could have slept better. Self parking was very hard to find upon arrival -ended up parking at another casino, then used it on following days to my convenience. There were good parts- free admission to Circas Stadium Swim. Also bed was comfortable and the front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. They should get a raise for enduring the constant loud music, as well as their good work. It was nice to stay at this historic hotel(The very first hotel in Vegas, build in 1906). But I highly doubt I will be back. Too many inconveniences and I prefer a larger room at a competitive price.
