"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Queens Hotel. The property is beautiful, with its traditional colonial architecture and a prime location overlooking the lake and the Temple of the Tooth. The two-bedroom family suite was ideal for our family, offering plenty of space and convenient access to the surrounding shops, restaurants, and main streets.
Each room was equipped with air conditioning, which was greatly appreciated in the heat and humidity, and complimentary bottled water was replenished daily. The laundry service was excellent—both efficient and remarkably fast. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional level of service from the staff. They consistently went above and beyond, whether delivering extra water, showing our daughter how to make an elephant from the towels, or arranging for a pair of trousers to be professionally cleaned after an accidental stain.
The facilities were also excellent. The pool and bar area provided a relaxing atmosphere, and the restaurant served a range of delicious meals throughout our stay.
The only minor drawbacks were the low shower water pressure, which made washing long hair somewhat challenging, and the noticeable noise from traffic and crows during the night. Light sleepers may wish to bring earplugs.
Overall, we would highly recommend the Queens Hotel. Its combination of character, location, facilities, and outstanding service made for a memorable stay, and we would gladly return in the future."
"Really lovely hotel set above Kandy with gorgeous views. We stayed for 2 nights and it was a perfectly relaxing stay. The food is great at the restaurant on the top floor.
The rooms are large and clean. Really friendly staff.
100% recommend"
"This is an excellent property at a beautiful location with great views. The breakfast I had here was one of the better ones I had in SL. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The rooms were clean and spacious.
The only thing I will mention is getting to this place is through a km of very narrow hilly road. Trust your driver and hopefully you do not have too big of a car. Once you get here, the view and the resort is worth it. Minimize the up and down trips to city of Kandy from here if you can and spend more time at resort."
"Super comfortable room, great location, decent breakfast and friendly staff who even tracked us down after we left a phone in he room. Thoroughly recommended"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Kandy
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Kandy is during May, June, and September, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a budget-friendly experience, staying for at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city's historical landmarks and cultural sites. During your visit, you can explore stunning temples, picturesque gardens, serene lakes, and lush forests, all while enjoying the scenic views. Kandy also offers excellent opportunities for hiking and sightseeing, making it a great value for money destination.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To explore accommodation options in Kandy, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and exclusive promotions, which could help you secure the best prices on cheap hotels. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re well-informed before booking. With these resources, you're more likely to find great last-minute offers.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the season, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Kandy. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and, at times, better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer more affordable options, enhancing your chances of securing a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be pricier, but thanks to Kandy's excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known towns nearby, there is often great value to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
