We were very pleasantly surprised with Exeter town centre, very modern, all the top branded shops in abundance, banks ! , lots of places to eat , for all tastes literally , and the area around the cathedral was beautiful and had a Christmas market

Lovely small city with a good buzz with students and residents alike and lots of history. Plenty of rail links and buses both across the city and out around Devon/across nationally. Plenty of shopping opportunities with both chains and independents

Exeter is a small and great city with historic sites and riverside. The high street has seen better days with lots of antisocial behaviour but it's not unsafe. Eating options are plentiful but generally they are chains so quality is okay.

Very historic city. The Red Coat tour we had at the beginning of our stay was free and informative and allowed us to plan suitable activities for the other days.

Exeter museum was extensive and had lots of unique items. Lots of shops and great for a night out! Loads of things to do for couples or family's. You don't need your car for most of these things.
"Very good location. All reception and bar staff really helpful. Room changed instantly when I discovered A Con not working. Bar staff went above and beyond to be helpful.
Room v good comfortable bed and lovely bathroom.
My second visit at this hotel will use it again."
"It took 40 years but I finally made it to university!😂
The room was a standard dorm room with basic facilities. And a wonderful view from the 13th floor. And as it was after the end of the term it was very quiet and empty.
All you can eat breakfast included, so a great start to the day. "
"I had not realised in advance that it was a net carbon neutral hotel. I was absolutely amazed by all the design and actions that were at work to make this hotel eco-friendly. Brilliant - if this hotel can do it, so can most others!
Elegant Skandi look to all the architecture, inside and out, all practical and with a purpose, but attractive also.
Bed comfortable, bathroom great (shower excellent) and I was able to have fresh air through a filter panel in the window also.
Room was reasonably priced.
Dinner was good and priced OK.
Continental breakfast was very nice; the cooked breakfast not so successful, and I think at £20 was overpriced.
Otherwise all wonderful and a lovely surprise!"
"I liked how easy the hotel was to get to. The staff were lovely. The room was sooo nice and great value for money with a really comfy bed and lovely large windows. Had a great stay here. "
"It is such good value for money. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are all so friendly. The rooms have everything you could possibly need, they are very clean and comfortable. "
"This hotel is really nice. My Room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff at reception were extremely polite, welcoming and very approachable."
