Good location - just on the edge of Montmartre (tucked around the corner from the ugly main drag where the Moulin Rouge is, so didn't come face-to-face with the red light district with our kids). Staff were helpful when asked to sort out with tourist site bookings but otherwise were not particularly friendly or engaging. My husband didn't like the place at all. I thought it was OK. There was a bit of a funny smell. We had ants in the room at one point. Dirty ashtray left on our balcony wasn't cleared away even after we asked. No door to the dishwasher and the toilet seat was loose. There was a knack to stopping the toilet flush going on and on - but we worked that out in the end. But the beds and wallpaper were nice! The rooftop area wasn't quite as Ibiza in its vibe as the photo would suggest, but it was nice to get a view of the Sacre Coeur

I stayed last year at the Bastille-Marais branch of Citadines whilst in Paris and had a fantastic stay. Unfortunately, they were sold out this time so I decided to book the Montmartre location. It was a mistake. The male reception staff were the most unhelpful and uninterested I have ever encountered. The room itself was not well kept with the edges of the bath peeling away from rot whilst the seperate toilet had an awful urine smell. Bath towels were small and stained and only added to an overall feeling of uncleanliness. We asked about housekeeping on our third day of a 9 day stay and were told our room was scheduled to be cleaned the following day - fine. However, on our return from a long day, the room hadn’t been touched. I personally advised reception and the uninterested male receptionist made a note for the housekeeping team for the following day. Well, guess what? When we returned the following afternoon after another long day, the room hadn’t been touched; no new towels, toilet not cleaned, bed not made - nothing. Yet another trip was made to reception. A promise was made for the room to be cleaned the next day and we were offered breakfast for the weekend as an apology. I thought here things could only get better but the toilet still stank. Our “free” breakfast was also terrible, nothing filling or substantial and the cereal was stale. Reception then tried to charge us for it on check out! Only positive was location.

Great hotel in fun neighbourhood
I stayed for two nights with my 9 year old daughter and this hotel was a perfect fit for us. Good to have the kitchen since we did not stay out late. The location was great, walking distance to Sacre Coure and a lot of restaurants in the area. Moulin Rouge was just 200 meters away and the hotel was also close to two metro stations. The only thing that was missing was air conditioning and I happened to stay there when there was a European heatwave. Would recommend the hotel would upgrade all rooms with AC. But overall we were really happy, the roof terrace had great view. And finally, we left some stuff accidentally in our room and the hotel kindly offered to ship it back to us (outside of France) which is a great service.

Good base for Paris visit
It has what I want and expect at this price. I am happy it does NOT have any of the corporate design flourishes that I would hate, like prints of Impressionist paintings etc. Location suits me perfectly ... The proximity/juxtaposition of the bourgeois delight of Montmartre and neon wild side of Pigalle. I can feel at home with neighbourhood shops very close by on rue Lepic, restaurants etc. The view from Sacre Coeur is, for me, the best, especially at night with the lighthouse beam of the Eiffel Tower. I go to Paris for art, if you do too, this place is a Minimalist Futurist Bauhaus space for your calming after the agitation induced by the 5th floor of the Pompidou. There is an acoustic clanging from the corridors - cleaning etc, but occasional and transient. It is next to the cemetery - go to the tomb of Dalida, do something artistic, a brief happening of some sort, and theatrical shriek! Here: that is a Fluxus script. Publish a review here saying you have done this. Also, you are close to the Place Dalida. It is becoming a Parisian custom to rub the breasts of her bust, as you will see if you wait and observe. Do this too. Wait for an American tour group to pass by ...

The price point was ok for a Hotel in Montmartre based on the options we shopped on Expedia. Our stay was not pleasant. One of the rooms had a broken safe, and the window did not lock properly. The is no housekeeping unless you order it. They provided a rotary fan (thank goodness) because the hotel has no air conditioning. The street noise at night was so loud and steady that it made sleeping challenging, to say the least. Finally, with the exception of one of the receptionists (Martha) the others were, how shall I say, curt, rude and seemingly uninterested in addressing our concerns. We would not recommend staying here.
