Pretty good hotel near rue Cler
The hotel is pretty good. Has good air conditioning (we were there during a heat wave), the people are nice, the hotel is clean but housekeeping could be better (small details, such as not leaving clean towels, nothing bad, but could improve). The area is great, by rue Cler, walking distance to everything, including the Eiffel Tower, you can walk at night there and back and it is very safe. There are open restaurants at all time in the area. The concierge is very nice. The only thing is that some reservations include breakfast and some do not, but when you go in the morning, it seems as if breakfast was included and it does not say anywhere that they are going to charge 10 euros per person plus tax (this sounds weird in Europe, but they did charge me tax). So the last morning, when I was leaving after 3 nights (but only 2 breakfasts for 2 people) they charged me 50 extra euros for the 2 mornings when we had breakfast. I was not happy about that. Probably my fault for not reviewing my reservation, but it should state clearer that if your reservation does not include breakfast, they are going to charge you 10 euros plus tax PER person. For that money I could have gone to rue Cler and have a better breakfast somewhere else. Overall it was very good anyway and I would go back there.

Exceptional 10.0
Perfect price and location
My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here. The price was excellent, and location couldn't have been better. The closest metro station was just around the corner, the streets around the hotel were teeming with locals, there were groceries, bank, post office, and everything needed just around the corner. AND it was close to all the tourist destinations. We walked for 15 minutes to the Eiffel Tower, and about 25 minutes to Musée d'Orsay and could easily get everywhere else with quick connections to public transport. We did the breakfast one day, and it was a good deal (10 euro) for a "buffet" style breakfast (5-7 euro for an espresso and croissant around the corner...though we found a cheaper one, 2 euro, as well). Hotel staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean, bathroom was especially nice (great lighting and water pressure). The beds were firm though comfortable (never woke with a sore back), and the pillows were great (of which there was 2 extra in the closet). The room/bed were small, yes, but totally functional for our use. There was even a nice closet and desk. It should be noted that the "2 twin bed" room we were in was 2 twin beds right next to each other, to functionally make one larger bed. We were comfortable with that, but not everyone might be (can't speak to other room set ups). There was a very strong perfume scent in our room which didn't bother us but may bother others, but with the window open it was fine. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel, great location.. no complaints
Stayed with my wife from the 16 th to 18th of December. Arrived very esrly for Check in but was immediately offered to leave my bags so we could go explore. We already had out trip planned out by the hour but the reception offered there knowledge which was greatly appreciated. The room was quaint, but very warm and clean. The water was piping hot and again very clean. Location was excellent for us and our style of visit. 2 min walk to ecol militarie Metro station and one Street from rue clear where my wife and I ate breakfast every morning of our trip. We took the metro to the arc de triumph but if you enjoy walking the city is lovely from explore from the hotel door, we walked 20km a day even though the metro was free all weekend due to a government scheme to reduce pollution. Our return to the airport was frantic to say the least, all trains to Charles de gaulle where not running, so a frantic run for a 50 euro taxi, but this balances out all our free travel over the weekend. All in all a 10 out for 10 trip. The beaugency comes highly recommended from my wife and I, if we make a return visit I do believe we would choose this for our hotel again.

Poor 2.0
Disappointing hotel booking (Rick Steves Rec)
I was choosing between this hotel and another one recommended via the Rick Steves Guide Books. This one had a note, saying it was a room with "a great view". I decided on the Beaugency for that reason even though the other hotel looked a bit nicer. When I arrived, the view was of a side of the building across the street (not even a pretty one). The room itself was old and in a bit of disrepair, which would have been fine but I paid a significant amount per night. The toilet didn't flush well (as in nothing I flushed stayed down, it'd come back up). And to top it off, I left the tag on the door asking not to clean the room. They did anyhow (which is no big deal). BUT they left the door unlocked and cracked open the entire day. My laptop was on my bed. I consider it luck that nothing was stolen, but I felt an invasion of privacy even if it wasn't my home. Went to tell the front desk but no one was there and I needed to catch my ride to CDG. :(

Good 6.0
Nice stay near the Eiffel Tower.
I enjoyed my stay here. I checked in around 8pm and there was a nice gentleman at the front desk that quickly checked me in. The elevator/lift was SMALL! Two people with luggage could not fit into this lift. I get to my room (47) and am shocked at the tiny size. It is certainly accommodating for only one person. The room was smaller than my college dorm room. The shower was TINY and very uncomfortable for me. Overall room and property was clean. It had a weird smell permeating in the hallway, though. The hallway and stairwell lights are on censors. I kind of freaked out the first time I left my room into a pitch-black hallway. But, realized quickly that it was censored as I crept down the hallway. The stairwell took me a little more time to realize. The switch is at the door opening as you head down the stairs. Breakfast is available (for a fee), but I didn't have any, so I cannot speak to it. There was always a pleasant person at the front desk. Oh, something I have never experienced, they ask that you turn the key into the front desk when you leave to make it easier for the cleaning staff??? I don't get that, but okay. There is a safe in the room, but I did not use it. The room was HOT all the time. I turned the thermostat all the down to 5 C and it never cooled down. I had to sleep with the window open, which I wasn't too keen about. Overall, good place in a nice location for the price of the stay.
