Basic accommodations, nothing fancy
Hotel Agora Saint Germain was a very average hotel. While we expected our room to be small, the setup of the room made it seem even smaller. You couldn’t open the bathroom door all the way without hitting the bed, and the toilet was tucked into a tiny corner. The toiletries provided were extremely basic, with just a combination shampoo/body wash in the shower. I was hoping for something just a little nicer since it is Paris after all. The front desk staff were very nice, although the language barrier seemed hard. Some of the staff spoke very little English. Also, they required us to leave our key at the desk while we were out of the room. The security of this seemed very alarming, since we saw different staff every day and they all just handed us the key without a second glance. The best part of this hotel was the location. It was a great spot in the Latin quarter, close to many restaurants and cafes. We walked all over Paris and used the bus and metro as well.

Great hotel
Overall would highly recommend staying at Agora Saint Germain. Location is great. The hotel is near the Sorbonne neighborhood (lots of bars and restaurants), 10 minute walk to Notre Dame, 10 minute walk to the RER train, grocery store right across the street, and Eric Kayser (bakery) right around the corner. Service was excellent. Over the course of our 2 night stay, we encountered 3 employees and they all spoke English. The room, while typically small as most Parisian hotel rooms are, was very clean and comfortable. Our room had a street light just outside our window which would've been inconvenient but the hotel has blackout shades to block the light. The St. Germain neighborhood is very safe so we never thought twice to walk around the neighborhood in the middle of the night. Highly recommend!

Best little hotel in the 5th Arrondisement
Best little hotel in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Excellent location near everything including the hit show of the Paradis Latin and great boulangerie Kayser. Couldn’t ask for more at a very reasonable price.

Merci Hôtel Agora Saint Germain!
We loved our stay at the Agora St. Germain. The staff was wonderful, the room was comfortable, clean, and in good working order. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel. It looked lovely, but there are several options within a block (great market across the street...although they do laugh at Americans...amazing bakery just around the corner, great breakfast a block down Rue de Bernardine.) Everyone staying are basically seasoned travelers, so although things are snug, the other guests were quiet, respectful, and turned in early. I am a light sleeper and I just turned up the air and slept fine. The location is to die for. Just perfect in every way. We will stay there again. Merci Hôtel Agora Saint Germain!

Great hotel
My sister and I stayed at the Agora Saint Germain two years ago and loved it. I've been back to Paris a couple of times since then and stayed at two other hotels. I'm very price conscious when making these trips, Since the Agora fell in to into my budget this time and we liked it so much the first time I decided to stay again. I don't know the staff's names, but most of them were there the last time and they are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that you could hear alot of noise from other rooms. The first time there we heard nothing (except the church bells from across the street). I asked about it when I left and they said they were completely full, so maybe last time there wasn't as many full. But I will definitely stay there again (if it's in my budget).

Best staff!
Extremely nice staff who were very helpful. They made a reservation at a restaurant for me before I arrived, which was really helpful. I would certainly stay here again. Wifi is good. The area is fantastic and only a couple of blocks from the Seine/Notre Dame. Metro station and bus stops are close and easy to navigate. Grocery store across the street and very good patisserie and outstanding bakery with amazing croissants down the street. We had such a nice stay.

Wonderful hotel with excellent staff, esp Yasmine
This is a wonderful little hotel. I have been staying here for almost 20 years every time I come to Paris. The staff is wonderful, location is fantastic. It has a homey, welcoming feel. After a long day of sightseeing, it's wonderful to come back to a place that feels like a home away from home.

Poor 2.0
Disappointed with the room
We have chosen the hotel by the positive reviews in the However, just after the checking, on the time to get into the elevator we found out that it would not match to our expectations. The elevator just fit 2 persons at once, so if you have a luggage just you and your luggage will fit in and no body else. At the time we opened the room’s door the disappointment was clear in our faces. The room is extremely narrow and out of date, very old furniture and wallpaper, no minibar in the room. The carpet was dirty and smelly, the pillows were smelly as well. We have booked the hotel for four nights, so we had a 80 liters luggage that we opened it on the floor. But every time to go into the bathroom we were forced to close it as the only place available to place the luggage is in front the bathroom’s door. The breakfast was just the average, but the staffs at the breakfast place were very friendly. Specially this blond curly hair lady, she greeted us every morning with a big smile. I believe it was the only good impression we had of our stay. So unfortunately not staying again.
