Well, Uncle Billy's was the creepyist hotel I have ever seen. It looked like it should have been in a slasher movie! No lights on when we arrived and not a soul around except for a front desk clerk who yelled at us from the front desk as we cruised through the parking lot. This place should probably be condemned. After talking with locals the next day they laughed when we said we had almost stayed there. It is the local joke hotel in Kona.

Uncle Billy's went out of business 2 days before my arrival. The desk clerk informed me that Uncle Billy's would honor my reservation by booking me a room at The Kona Outrigger--a 5 star hotel. I cannot relate how impressed I was with this transfer. It was easy and convenient and a great service performed by the management of Uncle Billy's

A "last" Resrot
Ran out of hot water. for 2 days. no one at the front desk would pick up the phone. The carpet in the room is suspect at best. We only chose Uncle Billy's because it was the only hotel left in Kona at the time and I can see why.

My bed had bedbugs and fleas. I reported it,they gave me a new room and no charge for first night. I have many bites around my shoulders and neck. The curtain rod for the patio door was broken, the carpets were stained, the patio door did not open.
I won’t stay again.

There is a huge empty hotel with no lights on and no signs where you check in. We had to wander around to find where we check in. We then had to go across the street for our rooms. The rooms are very dated, damp and musty smelling. Bed is uncomfortable- the rollaway we ordered was more comfortable than the queen bed. They don't provide blankets, only sheets, so I was freezing all night. The only nice thing was the garden around the hotel and it is close to all the shops.
