My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many many times in the past. We always try to stay within a couple weeks of Christmas in December. The first thing that upset my wife and I was the cost of the stay. By today's standards this hotel would be rated as a 3 star, actually its about a 2/1/2 star at best, The princess room we booked was advertised as approximately $249 a day including Resort Fee. In the end we paid $1888.10 for 5 nights stay. The self parking (@ $45 per day used to be included in the resort fee) but is now charged separately then add on various phony taxes jacked the price up to over $375 a night. For decades now we were hearing that the hotel was going to be renovated to and bring it up to par with some of the nicer hotels in Waikiki however. That has not happened. The rooms are as they appeared 3 years ago and the multi-level self parking structure is still without an elevator. Valet parking, at an extra cost of course, takes up the second floor so, you are forced to climb at least 3 floors to get your parked car or more every time you want to go out somewhere. The straw that broke the camels back was the Saturday night just before our early flight Sunday morning home was a loud music nightmare. Our room was on the 6th floor over the bar area. After the little floor show ended around 8:00pm my wife and I retired for a good nights sleep. Then the extremely loud music went for 2 hours. Called desk at 9:30pm they said sorry and continued music until 10
