Restful place with wifi only at the lobby
It was a good hotel to stay in the area. No wifi or tvs in the rooms, only in the lobby. Its kind of far from everything but the restaurant is decent, with good food and good prices. Overall it was fine to visit several waterfalls from here. I would recommend it as long as you understand that you will be a bit disconnected from internet and it would be 20 mins to ciudad valles.

Don't go terrible place.
The place is very dated, the grounds are in terrible shape. The pools had mould everywhere and debris floating everywhere. No wifi in the rooms you need to go to the very noisy reception area and the wifi you do get is supper slow. The beds are very old and uncomfortable with staind sheets. The road into Hotel Spa Taninul is about 1.5kms and in very bad shape we had a 4x4 pickup and I would never attempt it in a car. And when we arrived they didn't want to let us take our cooler into the room. Wouldn't even let us bring a bottle of wine to our room.

HORRIBLE
Hotels.com shouldn't even list this property! Totally run down, hallways stink, no lights in hallways, grounds unkept and the entire facility doesn't feel safe. We refused to stay there as it was the WORST hotel we have ever found in Mexico!

Make sure you are not in the front
The place was nice and comfortable but I was towards the front where the busses arrive so there was noise. I would opt for a room away from the front.

Not recommended
We drove in at night time so we did not expect it to be so dark and scary-looking going in. The room smelled musty and the beds were old and not comfortable. We ate at the buffet for dinner and then the next day for breakfast and the food was ok. The only thing we enjoyed about our stay was the pool and the horse ride we purchased but other than that I would not recommend staying here especially if driving in at night time, very dark and scary and in need of a lot of maintenance.

My time at the hotel
No one spoke English when I needed help ordering in the restaurant but the food was tasty. Shower hot & cold water but head sprayed water everywhere. A/c cold but too noisy. No blackout curtain to keep out light from room at night. Floor is slippery when wet in rooms. Bathrooms out by pool smelled of urine. We had four people in our room and they gave us only two towels I had to ask for at least one more to share.

Horrible hotel. Bed was not comfortable the lamps were dirty no outlet to charge the phone had to physically move a dresser and disconnect one of two dirty, filthy lamps to use the charger. Toilet would drip water and clog after every use. Stay away from it.

A Nice place, but wast for a bad management
The hotel is around the nature, where you will be able to see salvage parrots. But this hotel is missing of a "real" management. The front desk employees are not professional at all, and just do not their jobs. The restaurant is correct. The sulfure swimming pool is awful, they are not able to regulate the height of the water and the sulfure water pass thru on the sides of the pool, which make the around of the pool really sliding. the smell of the sulfure and the overflow of the pool make think of a drainage problem... The clore pool is nice. The rooms are missing maintenance, the a/c are noisy and old, bed and pillows are not confortable No tv, no internet This hotel has so much potential, but nothing is done to valorize it. What a wast...

Our stay
The hotel is far from everything, but the food in the restaurant was very good and the price was good. The room was clean and spacious. We just didn't have hot water for our shower, it was tepid at best. We showered early in the am. Later, before we checked out of the hotel, there was hot water! So just don't show early! One thing we REALLY enjoyed were all the green parrots that land in the trees in the courtyard in the late PM. It was so much fun to watch them. It was our first experience in seeing parrots in the wild! We traveled by motorcycle and they had us park the bike up on the front porch for safety! We felt it was very secure there.

Staff is very accomodating, hotel bad condition
A few hours after having checked into our room, we were told we would have to change due to maintenance issues (not sure what these were). We changed to a room were there was only one setting for air conditioning- high. In addition, the air conditioning unit isn't well installed considering that there is a clear gap which allows inside insects to get in. My girlfriend had insect bites. They were prompt in changing the bedding. At midnight, the old toilet gave out and started over-flowing. The water shutoff valve was broken so no way to turn off the water and the hotel maintenance was no longer at the hotel. I had to use a shoestring and some ingenuity to get the water to stop flowing. Bottom line, hotel needs to be remodeled. Pros- Staff is very nice and restaurant food was actually very good.
