Lovely room in a good location, welcoming staff and overall very comfortable. Only negative was it was a little lacking in the tea, coffee and milk, not enough milk for two people to have a beverage with milk.

Lovely stay and amazing staff
One of the best hotels for customer experience I've been to: the staff were helpful, polite and always greeted you with a smile. I had contacted them on booking and said it was a special occasion, and when we arrived there was a lovely card and treat waiting for us as a surprise, such a lovely touch. The reception staff were also fantastic at catching my random emails asking for little things to ensure a special surprise for my partner wasn't spoiled; they played along and it went off without a hitch. The Bentley experience was lovely. Only minor complaints were the room smelt a bit musty, but I think the ventilation for the bathroom wasn't as strong as it needs to be. And there was a lot of noise from the room above when they had a shower at 6am on a Sunday - it sounded like water trickling into our room. But if I'm visiting again will definitely stay again. Highly recommended

The Gonville is a beautiful hotel. Centrally located in Cambridge, it has a mixture of elegance and style. The rooms are very unique and brings back that feel of what UK hotels are renowned for. Wonderfully welcome from the first moment we arrived, which continued throughout the rest of our stay. I chose this hotel as it was less corporate and from a small chain of hotels that I know provide a quality approach to all details ( which they did).

Best hotel I've stayed in by far
We had a wonderful stay, it was our anniversary and they made swans out of the towels, put rose petals on the bed and left us some delicious macarons and an anniversary card, it was so thoughtful. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable! We had breakfast served in our room too, which was a real treat.

Beautiful hotel. Lovely touches such as hot chocolate in reception available with marshmallows, such a treat. Bar area great with lovely band playing in the evening. Stayed with friends and booked under one reservation but was disappointed when our rooms were on different levels. There is no spa facilities which is confusing from photos of website.

Couples Trip - Ok
The hotel itself is lovely and the staff all very helpful/friendly. £225 a night I think is steep, you have to pay for parking and our room was on the smaller side and stuffy. No window as on ground floor, but had a door which led to the car park for obvious reasons couldn’t leave that open. Bathroom small and you couldn’t turn the towel rail off so was boiling. The shower hose kept disconnecting from the shower head, but was a fully booked hotel and 11pm so didn’t bother saying anything as we wanted to go to bed! A shame as I had high hopes, but the hotel itself is lovely i just don’t think it’s worth that sort of money.
