best weekend friend getaway ever!!!
I highly recommend this hotel, it an oasis in the middle of the valley. Upon our arrival (5 adults) we were greeted with fresh water with cucumber and fresh organic sliced oranges to enjoy some mescal. Our rooms were clean!! To our surprise we all had an iced bottle of champage in our rooms. I have travel a lot within Mexico and I have to say that these were one of the most comfy bed I have slept on. The staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you !!

Unique getaway!
Agua De Vid was very nice. You just have to remember you are in Mexico and the standards are a little different from the US. I had 3 pre-paid rooms and everything was ready and as booked when we arrived. The road was a bit rough but hey its MX. The frontdesk girl was very nice. She walked us to our rooms. Rooms are very pleasant. They are clearly more set up for the summer/fall than winter. The pool was right outside our door however far too cold for swimming. The hot tub was also too cold and in the process of being drained. The rooms have an Ac/Heater unit however the unit barley put out any heat (this was the case in all 3 rooms). 2 of the rooms had a propane heater but only one had gas in tank. We lit the one for a while but did not feel comfortable leaving it on all night. There were plenty of warm blankets on the bed and we were perfectly comfortable all night. The rooms are cozy, colorful comfortable. There is a lounge at the end (with a TV) that in the summer would be very nice to sit in. Coffee is available here in the am. We had some pizza at night on the rooftop patio with a DJ. They had plenty of heaters and it was fairly lively with other guest. The pizza, cheese tray and drinks were all good and reasonably priced. The servers were exceptionally nice. We had a great breakfast (included) in the am. Again the service was very friendly. The coffee and eggs were fresh and tasty. The main building is very cool with a large outdoor patio. We can't wait to come back.

STAY AWAY. This place is horrible!
we paid over $500 to stay here for two nights and just left our first night bc it was so utterly horrible. i was appalled at how bad this hotel is. the rooms look like prison cells and do not match the photos at all. you get zero amenities here: no blow dryer, no iron, no working heater, no working wifi, no tv and if you want to use their soap you have to pay an additional $10 bc it’s in an “engraved glass?!?!” seriously?? and on top of that they claim to save water so you can only shower for “14mins” but ours was more like 5 until the water turned freezing cold in our already freezing room. it was literally torture in a cold, sad and pathetic room. you also don’t get real doors so the cold from the night entered our room and my daughter cried most of the night as we all tried to squeeze into one bed shivering. i felt like i was being tortured versus being on a nice family trip. i asked multiple times for a refund but they only offered me a free stay in the future when i never want to step foot in here again. this place is just a facade, it’s all cheaply done, it’s dirty and the next hotel we stayed at was an absolute GEM and we paid the same price!!! the next morning there were other hotel guests demanding their money back. i felt like we were all in a prison together & i was the only one who escaped. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM AND RIP OFF. do not stay here if you have any desire to relax and unwind. your experience will be all stress. there’s also a large trash dump in the back.

Save your money
I spent over 350 dollars to stay at this place hoping to get a nice room and stay at this beautiful hotel. I told my boyfriend to bring his swimming trunks and to our surprise the pool was unkept and murky. OK. I was looking forward to the hot tub and that was dirty as well. You can tell from the tile and dead bug floating that it hasn't been cleaned in a while. No biggie. The people that stayed in the rooms next to us made a lot of noise stumbling into their hotel rooms around 4 am. BUT THEN when I go to the bathroom to take a shower I find HAIR IN THE DRAIN. The shower looked like it had not been cleaned and the room may have looked ready but it was obvious that whoever was supposed to clean the rooms was cutting corners. IT WAS GROSS. At least I had breakfast to look forward to...the stay included complimentary breakfast. It was not the best. When a hotel worker asked about our stay I said the bathrooms were dirty. My boyfriend and I were given complimentary mimosas after I complained but the damage was done. I really wanted to like this place

Favorite Place in Wine Country
We had a great time staying at Agua de Vid. It is an amazing place with an artsy architectural feel. The rooms were very clean and stylish and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the fine touches like the lights and the brass piping. The restaurant was very nice and the food was delicious. There was some trouble with communication as the only person that seemed to speak English was the very nice and helpful girl at the front desk, she did a great job of taking care of us. I just wish I knew more Spanish when dealing with the rest of the staff at the restaurant, bar, etc. Overall it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it.

Hotel was nice, very hipster! Also seemed very hip for the area, we were there a Saturday night and it was hoppin. Rooms were comfortable and cool decorations. Seemed a bit overpriced overall though. Also, the pool did not have a lounge area and sort of seemed like just a concrete trough, not much of a pool.

Hair balls on shower walls
Arrived late Friday night to the hotel and took a shower. The shower was dirty with hair balls from the previous guest splattered all over the walls. The following morning I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they said they would address it as the housekeeping crew tended to the rooms. Fast forward to check out Sunday morning, the shower was never cleaned. The previous guest’s hair was still string out all over the walls. Nobody ever came out to clean it. At checkout I brought up the fact that I paid a lot of money for the two night stay ($840) and was presented with dirty accommodations. I asked to speak to the hotel manager, and was told that the manager was not available. The only thing the front desk attendant offered was a lunch voucher at the hotel restaurant which was useless considering I was on my way out of town at that point. The front desk did not seem too concerned with trying to make up for the poor conditions of my room. In addition to the filthy room conditions, they have a nightclub that was blasting music on a Saturday night a few hundred feet away from the rooms, well past midnight. The loud music may be a concern for some guests trying to get a good nights sleep.

Nice retreat if you're up for an adventure!
Overall a wonderful stay. Life moves much slower around here but the hotel staff is at the ready if you have any requests. The beds were comfortable and the room was very well appointed. You come here to relax, take in the surrounding views and drink wine. No TV in the bedroom but we didn't need it. Our room faced the lap pool which was a nice treat. I only wish the pool would've been cleaned more frequently and that dipping bath/jacuzzi? was warmer. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and drinks upstairs on the third floor. My only complaint is the hotel bar area felt unorganized. The lobby bar area was sloppy with the everyday mess of running a business left out on display, and we were told they ran out of triple sec for margaritas and mezcal later into the evening. We also couldn't order liquor on the top floor, only wine by the bottle so we were sent to the floors below to order our cocktails and glasses of wine. That said, still a wonderful stay and a nice adventure into Valle de Guadalupe. We'll definitely be back to explore the area again.
