I really liked Madrid. The Prado was a dream. I wish I had another week. Public transit was pretty simple. Many people seem to be taking the side trip to Segovia and Toledo and I kind of wished I had done that too. I'd visit again in a moment!

I walked 5K around the city and to the Prado Museum. I found people to be very helpful when I stopped them to ask a question. Madrid was very clean and the city was actually doing street cleaning on a national holiday.- Jan 6. Walkable 10/10!

We were in Madrid for a month and loved it. We came back for one night to make the airport connection easier than trying to get here from Toledo. Even after a month there was still a lot of Madrid we didn't get to see. It is large and diverse.

Madrid was friendly, easy to get around, wonderful museums and parks. The food was great. For a large city the city center was not overwhelming and had lots to offer in food, shopping and attractions. The city was cleaner than I expected.

Don't visit in August. It's too hot. I know that's easier said than done especially if you're from the US and you have kids on summer vacation. Take the time to check out their supermarkets. Prices are affordable and people are friendly.

It feels like and looks like a capitol city. The cultural richness and diversity of the population made me feel I had my place and could belong. The tree lined streets, the architecture, the hills and cultural resources are world class!
"Excellent, polite, helpful staff--even called a doctor for me when I became very ill at night. Delicious extensive breakfast buffet spread. Super convenient--metro Sevilla, short walk to Puerta del Sol. In the middle of everything in Madrid--I will return again!"
"Amazing location and super walkable but also close (steps away!) from transportation. Not too far from the main roads. Clean and practical. Staff is super nice. I will definitely be back. "
