Arriving is a little dodgy - we got there around noon, and had plans to meet friends. They wouldn't check us in, and told us if we got back after 11PM (when the pub closes) we would be unable to check in. They did hold our bags. This made us have to burn some time until 3PM when they could check us in, so we would have a key to re-enter later. Not super convenient. The room was 4 flights up, no lift, no offer to help with luggage, so if you are not pretty fit, look elsewhere. The stair was really narrow and uneven, with grimy carpets. The room itself at least had good air conditioning. The bed was very, very soft, not ideal. Not a large room, and the desk was completely covered with the minibar snacks, etc... so not a great place if you have any work to do. The bathroom was large enough, but not level, and the shower had a broken handle and water leaked out of the corner of the enclosure all over the floor. The area is good for transportation - right by Barbican Victoria line and Ferringdon Station for easy connection to Heathrow and Luton and elsewhere. Probably wouldn't stay again, especially at the rate we paid.
