Yooma pros and cons
The room set up for a family of 4 (with 2 kids under the age of 10) was very good with the bunk bed set up. The room was small and tight but finding a hotel in Paris that can accommodate 4 in one room is challenging, so even with cramped quarters, we appreciated the layover of the room. The hotel is very cheap with supplies; you get the bare bones with towels, soap, TP etc. and have to hunt on your own to get more when required. The front staff refused to give a second key card which was a little strange as our family split up for part of the days and it would have been enormously convenient to have 2 keys. The kitchen/restaurant was closed for renovations when we were there which was disappointing as grabbing a quick breakfast before a long day would have been appreciated. It’s hard to find anything close to the hotel for quick meals (breakfast especially) which was surprising as I assumed there would be a restaurant on every corner. If they had a mini fridge we would have stocked up but they do not (obviously a North American comfort we've become accustomed to). They overcharge for coffee in the reception area which I thought was unnecessary. All in all however, the good room layout is the winning factor for this hotel with the bunk bed set up, and the close proximity to the Eiffel Tower was great (which we loved for walking around in the evening to take photos). The rest I mentioned could be improved on by the hotel to make guests stays that much better.

A great idea that needs a bit more work.
This hotel has so much potential. It is modern, bright and has rooms to cater for families, which is very hard to find. However, there is a lot that is letting this hotel down and it really wouldn’t take much to fix it. First the positives. Super bunk beads in rooms and lots of charging points for devices. Very good, powerful shower. Breakfast was good, with delicious hot croissants although the choice was very minimal. Only a 10min walk to the Eiffel Tower. Now the negatives. Firstly, this hotel has a very bad smell. We noticed it the first night in our room but by the second day the smell of sewage was overwhelming. It seemed to be coming from the shower, which was also leaking through an ill-fitting shower door. Secondly, there seemed to be a severe shortage of towels. On returning to our room on the second day I had to go down to reception to say we did not have enough(no phone in room so had to go directly to reception). Was told, quite rudely that there was no one available and it would be after midnight before someone could bring them to our room. Subsequently the towels did not arrive which required a further trip to reception the next morning. The staff have a lot to learn when it comes to customer service and only one appeared to be remotely friendly. There was also a huge shortage of glasses and cups at breakfast and the place appears to be very short staffed.Pilows were awful. We also found the area a little remote, despite being so close to the Eiffel T.

Don’t get breakfast there
I paid for breakfast for a family of 5 for 5 days. It is about $40 a day for a total of $200. Not a lot of money. But breakfast consisted of 3 types of little pastries. 2 types of cereals. Some bread with jam or butter. Then drink. That is it. It looks nothing like the picture on the hotel website. Also, it is the SAMETHING every single day!!!!!!! My family got sick of it by day 2. My kids refused to eat anymore breakfast by day 3. I basically just went down for some tea. I know it is Paris. But at least give us some variety. I am in Barcelona now. My breakfast at nearby cafe costed less than $20. And a whole lot better. Think I will vacation in Barcelona again and not in Paris. Or at least not have breakfast at your hotel.

Good for a layover
PROS: My family of 7 needed a place for a layover. This hotel fit the bill. It's got a modern feel, is only a short walk to the Eiffel tower, on a major road so you can find a taxi, and many restaurants and Café nearby. It also has a small bar and mini restaurant should you need to eat. The room slept six and I'm sure it's designer had "family" in mind. With high ceilings, there were 4 spacious cubical bunk beds built into the wall with privacy walls, lamps, and USB/Plug outlets. On the side was a double bed and crib. My kids couldn't get enough. There was also a small water closet and a decent size shower room that could easily fit 3 people at a time. CONS: The AC was NON-existent. It rained during our short stay so we expected the cold weather everywhere and it was...except in that room. The night heat was unbearable and 7 in a room made it worse. The only window in the room does open "wide" but we felt it unsafe with kids. Hotel staff came twice to check, set it to the lowest (We could hear it, there was a draft, it was minimal of 16°), but they could do nothing more. They were able to provide a small rotating fan (the last in the hotel!!!) and it did make the difference. The water closet faced the 4 bunk beds, so even though the door was closed (there is no exhaust fan inside).... you get the picture. There was also no room phone or a mini fridge in the room to store baby's milk. There's some nearby construction. Overall it was a good stay with minor bumps.

This is a great place for families with younger kids and/or budget travellers who don't mind a lot of kids around. This is not a full service hotel, but something between a hostel and a hotel - our rom had a private bathroom and shower, but not all rooms do, so be attentive to the details on your reservation. We arrived in the middle of an historic heatwave (learned a new French word: canicule) and the A/C in our room was more than up to the task, however I heard grumbling in the lobby that not all rooms were so equipped. Staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. Location is very good if you don't mind walking a little bit and are using metro to get around the city. It's certainly not the most romantic part of Paris, but then again, this is a family-focused hotel. There is the BeauGrennell mall nearby with shopping and a MonoPrix superstore (like a Super Target). Close to the Charles Michels, Bir Hakeim and Tour Eiffel/Champs du Mars metro stops.
