Fantastic small boutique hotel. We loved staying there and even booked more nights. The breakfast was simple, but very fresh (made to order) and good. The room was spacious and very clean. Absolutely amazing small boutique hotel in Cartagena. We originally booked 3 nights but ended up staying longer because of how nice it was. The rooms are good in size, very clean and modern. It was surprizing how good the sound-proofing is in this hotel even if we had a balcony facing the street. The street gets pretty quiet at night so we slept so well. Staff is super sweet. Made to order breakfast was fresh and was very fulfilling. We will definitely stay in Casa la Cartujita he next time we are in Cartagena.

The property is beautiful and the staff are very attentive and helpful. There was always someone available, even though the hotel has only seven rooms. Breakfast was delicious, with choices each day among a number of options and fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and breads accompanying each. The street is very quiet but well located within the walled city. The room was large and there are also several other places outside the room to sit and socialize. The pool is small but refreshing, and the jacuzzi on the roof is not set too hot, so enjoyable at the end of the day despite the heat outside. Really one of the most enchanting places I have stayed in a long while--it was a very memorable element to our trip to Cartagena!

The room and the entire property were super clean and quiet. The AC was only inside guest rooms and dining area, which made the upstairs lounge pretty warm. However, the rooftop lounge and jacuzzi were beautiful! Oddly, the hotel didn't have light blankets; instead using sheets to add warmth when we only had the AC set to 68, but everything was really lovely, and the staff was very attentive and helpful.

We spent two wonderful nights at Casa La Cartujita. The only regret is that we weren’t able to stay longer! Great, walkable area with many shops, restaurants, and sites around. The staff went above and beyond in every aspect. The area also felt safe - even when walking around alone (40 year old woman). Breakfast was lovely and delicious and the pool gave us a nice break from the heat.

Wow…that’s where I’ll start. Our experience with La Casa Cartujita was all that we hoped for on first ever trip to Columbia. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful. The property was clean and oh the fragrance that so delicately and strategically circulated throughout La Casa was so divine that I had to ask about it. My husband would sometimes react to fragrances but had no issues there. The entire place felt like a haven after a full day of roaming the Walled City. And the cool room (Electra) and plush bed were our own paradise. The Chef and kitchen staff made breakfast a delightful experience rather than something to check off your list before you head out. Everyday we were warmly greeted and before going out we were always asked if we wanted our room cleaned. The design layout, the stone work of the floor and walls, the decor, and the 2 living gardens are beautiful. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the staff that made our stay as awesome as it was. I would like to make special mention of everyone by name (but I can’t because I don’t remember them all) however, Maria, Loren Sofia, Chef, Chef’s Assistant, and my room attendant - May God’s blessings overtake your lives in Jesus name. I didn’t have much interaction with the 2 guys that daily maintained the property but I noticed enough to compliment you on your level of professionalism and attention to detail. This property is located inside the "Ciudad Amurallada". Excellent customer service. They are all smiles and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast ( free). We cool off inside the pool after our walk. Right across the street, we visited a wonderful restaurant. If you are interested in a place to be comfortable to sleep and cool off at the end of the day, this is it. You may have to walk upstairs and if you are unable that could be a problem, no elevators, but if you need help with your luggage just ask they will help, no fuss.

Excellent option in the walled city

This was our second stay with Casa La Cartujita (we stayed there before the pandemic). It is located in a quieter part of the Walled City (further from the busiest touristy areas), but still within short walking distances of many excellent restaurants and shopping. The staff is very accommodating. Rooms were clean, with excellent double-paned windows (we didn't hear any noise from the street at night). They make a very tasty breakfast to order, which was very convenient. Not everyone spoke English well, but we never had any issues communicating. Most rooms are upstairs (~1 flight of stairs). Staff is helpful with the bags, but something to keep in mind if anyone has issues with mobility. Overall, an excellent stay!

We stayed there for four nights. And the Internet was out the entire time. This was an extreme inconvenience and no reasonable alternative was provided. No discount for the rooms. No extra accommodation. They attempted to comp coffee from across the street, but that was less than satisfactory because they were only open certain hours and you were only allowed to get one coffee and charged for the rest. Additionally, there was construction going on next-door that went from nine in the morning till 5 PM which was extremely noisy and again not the staff’s fault but another inconvenience. I would have chosen to switch hotels, however, every day they said it would be fixed the next morning. The common areas are few and not air-conditioned. However, the staff is very very friendly and as accommodating as they could be within their ability.
