Quirky and comfortable
A quirky hotel. Seemed a little strange not to see any staff but well organised with plenty of info provided before arrival. Welcoming touches such as personal note in room, small welcome gift and complimentary snacks/drinks. Also an added bonus was the pot of tea placed outside the door with fresh towels every morning. Out basement room was comfortable with a kitchenette and very small shower room, it had an extra small room off it with a sofa & another shower too!

2/10 Poor

Dirty, dark, and didn’t feel safe
Didn’t stay the night, booked last minute whilst stranded in London whilst trains not running. As I booked this quickly I read the name as Roxy and thought it was part of a chain, and the pictures looked nothing like the reality. on arrival the room was not ready, codes on all doors that didn’t feel secure, was lead to a room with a dirty plate on the side, paint scraped on walls a fold up chair that felt like a dirty teenagers room. Lots of voices outside the room, I sat on the low bed for a second felt springs. Grabbed my bags looked for someone (no one there) and left. I have never felt unsafe and uncomfortable in my many years of travelling I couldn’t physically stop there. Paid less for a night in a Radisson (same night) where I felt safe, waiting on hotels.com to offer assistance having booked thousands of night with them over the years and never booking through them and not feeling safe or protected

Lovely little hotel
Lovely stay in London. Nice little touches everywhere from tea service in the morning, to a stocked mini fridge with free refreshments. The only thing I might say is the bed was a bit firm but that is all. Would stay again.

4/10 Fair

Not for us
The hotel was not for us, our room was on the ground floor at the front so to have any privacy we had to keep the shutters closed which left the room being very dark. The room was small and once the shutters were closed it felt like a very prison cell, all very grey and dull. The bathroom was tiny and smelt of drains. We are both over 6 foot tall and there was no way we could get dry in the cupboard that was the bathroom. Plus the shower head was hanging from the ceiling. Never saw a staff member apart from the 4 who shortly after I checked in were standing outside our window having a very loud conversation. The welcome gift is a nice touch but not practical if you are heading off on a holiday as we were and did not want to carry a jar of jam around for a week with us. Really wanted to like it based on the reviews but sorry not for us and in our opinion much better hotels at the same cost in the area.

Very friendly welcome, convenient, clean. Being able to use the contents of the mini bar, free of charge, was a lovely touch as was the complementary jar of Fortnum and Masons strawberry jam. Will stay here again when in London, especially when using Eurostar.

6/10 Good

The room was really small and dingy. I chose it for its convenient location. Bathroom was really small and a leftover soap was left behind, uggh! They did leave me a nice sandwich but I arrived late in the evening so didn’t really care about eating it. Check in was all done via email with door code so no human interaction.

Amazing stay
Stayed for one night while on business. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Great communication, nice and clean room (small but thats known). But it was the service that made it amazing. The gift, free minibar, nice and personalised notes, fresh tea in the morning etc. Huge thanks to Hussain.

8/10 Very good

We wanted to stay in London for one night after returning on the Eurostar. The Rokxy was less than 10 minutes away in a row of townhouses in Argyle Square. Even though it is so close to Kings Cross, it was very quiet. There was a little hassle paying on the day because we were travelling in France and Wifi connections were poor, but it eventually worked and we got the door code which worked just fine. We were in the Hygge Suite which had a nice bedroom and a small sitting room. There are two bathrooms as well and a small kitchenette. There were nice touches like cucumber sandwiches and a small gift. The suite had everything we needed, including a fan which was a bit noisy, but welcome because it was warm. I hadn't realised that the suite is on the ground floor which is below street level and there is no natural light except for a tiny bit coming from an air shaft, so we didn't get a lot of air from outside. The proprietors left tea and biscuits (Oreos!) in the morning outside the door, but unfortunately we had to leave at 8:45 and so didn't really get to enjoy it. We also didn't get to try the arcade since we were there such a short time, but we certainly will consider staying at The Rokxy again and will try our hands at the arcade games then. Next time, though, I think we will go for a room on a higher floor. It is a fun place with nice touches and I would definitely recommend it. Not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive.

There is a lot to like - quirky, service, nice touches, value for money, staff - location - a few things to work on maybe if I am picky - some wear and tear needs a touch up and little things like brushes for washing up and cloths etc. but love what you are doing - sets you apart
