We wanted to stay in London for one night after returning on the Eurostar. The Rokxy was less than 10 minutes away in a row of townhouses in Argyle Square. Even though it is so close to Kings Cross, it was very quiet. There was a little hassle paying on the day because we were travelling in France and Wifi connections were poor, but it eventually worked and we got the door code which worked just fine.
We were in the Hygge Suite which had a nice bedroom and a small sitting room. There are two bathrooms as well and a small kitchenette. There were nice touches like cucumber sandwiches and a small gift. The suite had everything we needed, including a fan which was a bit noisy, but welcome because it was warm. I hadn't realised that the suite is on the ground floor which is below street level and there is no natural light except for a tiny bit coming from an air shaft, so we didn't get a lot of air from outside.
The proprietors left tea and biscuits (Oreos!) in the morning outside the door, but unfortunately we had to leave at 8:45 and so didn't really get to enjoy it. We also didn't get to try the arcade since we were there such a short time, but we certainly will consider staying at The Rokxy again and will try our hands at the arcade games then. Next time, though, I think we will go for a room on a higher floor.
It is a fun place with nice touches and I would definitely recommend it. Not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive.
