Midtown Shangri-La, Hangzhou
"Friendly staff, amazing service and great location!"
Shangri-La Hangzhou
"The building was built in the 1950s, so that’s the style. The location is perfect, with the lake right in front of your eyes. Rooms are solid built and quiet which is hard to achieve with modern buildings. Once you shut the balcony door you can’t hear the hustle and bustle outside. Breakfast is great with a gorgeous view of the lake. If one is looking for a modern hotel this is not the recommended one. But if one is interested in history and wants to stay at the same hotel a lot of world leaders stayed at, one may feel he/she is reliving the history here. Love the lotuses in the lobby by the way, very summery."
JW Marriott Hotel Hangzhou
"no comments to be added. Thanks."
Conrad Hangzhou
"Fabulous stay, buffet was wonderful, a great mix of western options and omelettes were made to order, nice selection of breads, pastries, fresh juices with an amazing view to enjoy your breakfast. Concierge at the front of the building, someone opening my taxi door, to offering to take my luggage, as well as someone standing at the elevators to guide you. Everything feels really well thought out and meticulous, you are truly cared for there. My best stay in china could not recommend enough."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Hangzhou
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Hangzhou is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a comprehensive exploration of the city's historical and cultural landmarks, as well as its stunning natural scenery, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. During your visit, you can enjoy attractions such as the picturesque West Lake, ancient temples, scenic gardens, and fascinating museums. This trip offers great value for money, particularly for those travelling on a budget, as prices may drop during these months, making it an ideal time for sightseeing tours and outdoor excursions in the serene mountains and parks.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals for accommodation in Hangzhou, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save on hotel deals. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. With these resources, you'll be well-equipped for a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a hotel in Hangzhou. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes be better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is relatively high, we will suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, increasing the likelihood of finding a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, with Hangzhou's superb public transport options, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further afield that remains well-connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
