The property is obviously owned and decorated by someone focused on introducing multiple vivid colours inside and out! The blinds do not keep the sunlight out and just after 5 am the room was awash with light. Couple that with other guests sitting right outside our room at 7 am talking loudly over the TV which I tried to use to drown their noise out. After listening to them congregate in the carpark drinking talking and music invading our paid room until around 10pm from arrival at around 5ish not a place for me or to be recommended by me. We usually get great stays not this time....

Staff friendly and helpful. The room was not large but adequate, and well equipped. Plenty of towels etc. Quiet. Air con/heating efficient. Each unit painted a different colour and lots of plants around make for a lovely aspect. Recommended!

This is a very old rather quirky motel. We had pre-paid for our 1-night stay and the reception office was un-manned for our entire stay. Room rather small and dated but had everything needed. Dining facilities have now been closed. Good meal at the New Norfolk Hotel and breakfast at Maccas!

A Colorful and Artistic Stay in New Norfolk

Review for Junction Motel New Norfolk If you love colors, art, and history, this is a wonderful place to stay. Each room is uniquely decorated with creativity, clean and comfortable. Just steps away from the charming town center, you can enjoy views of the Derwent River, heritage sites, antique shops, and cozy cafés. Truly a memorable and artistic experience.

We chuckled when we first arrived and saw the collection of bric a brac that was dotted around the entire motel. The rooms were warm and comfortable, if a little tired. Friendly and helpful staff, and the location is very quiet, yet close to the middle of town. Good value for money, and we would certainly stay here again when next we visit New Norfolk.

overpowering stench of cigarette smoke in the room

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the overall experience was fine, there was one major issue that really impacted our stay: the overpowering stench of cigarette smoke in the room. It was so strong that even the supposedly "clean" towels and bedding had the lingering odour, which was really strong, and as non-smokers, made us feel sick and get sore throats. The smell reminded me of nightclubs in the 80's - when cigarette smoke would permeate your hair and clothes. The room itself was otherwise decent enough for budget accommodation, and the staff were fine, during little interaction I had with them, but the cigarette smell ruined our stay.

Quirky place, but clean, upgraded bathroom facilities. Small room but ok for one night. Looks a bit freaky at first glance but safe and clean.
