Have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and have found the reception staff to be rude each and every time. They have been unhelpful and blunt on these occasions, which I have witnessed towards others also. The parking for the hotel is abysmal as there are only 35 parking spaces for guests. On one occasion I had already prepaid for parking at the hotel to be told there was none left upon arrival. the most recent stay we were told that we could park in the ‘overflow’ car park (being a general city car park for the public) for $16 for the night. We chose not to accept this, however ended up parking there anyway due to no other options. Upon leaving the car park the charge was only $6 instead of the $16 through the hotel. Breakfast was appalling. Paid $20 a head for a buffet breakfast to sit down for 15 minutes and by this time the breakfast was being packed up. Upon arrival for breakfast there was no mention of breakfast finishing anytime soon. When asked about breakfast the staff were not helpful and their only comment was “we’re packing up”. if we had of known breakfast was nearly over we would have gone elsewhere. Instead they were just happy to take the money without allowing us time to eat. Overall the hotel rooms are quite nice but small. The experiences have been quite upsetting. As regular travellers to the Hobart area for business and pleasure, they have not met benchmark set by other hotels and we will not be staying here again.

Everything motel related was fine, staff were incredibly polite and friendly, appeared natural not forced. Only complaint was breakfast from restaurant which I assume is separate business. Scrambled eggs were weird in texture, chef needs a lesson in making them, sausages weird choice for breakfast and to me inedible, bacon consisted only of the daggy skinny fatty bits which I won't eat, I don't know name of the other end which is mostly meat but can be bought without the whole rasher. Anyway paying for the cooked breakfast was a waste of money for me, glad I didn't leave a tip which was presented to me when I walked in to pay, not on leaving. Motel part excellent.

    Perfect Stay & Easy Access
My stay at the ibis Styles Hobart was smooth, hassle free & enjoyable. Alex helped me with check in & was happy to learn that I am a Travel Agent here for both work & pleasure. (He helped me with my booking for Mr. Good Guy, which was an amazing experience). When I'd request a bucket of ice it was always greeted with a "no worries, just give us a few minutes"; but, on night 3 of 6, I was informed that "it's a one time thing, you'll have to get your own ice from the bar". I was confused as I had that service given about 5 or 6 times by then. Maybe clearer notice should be given once ice has been delivered. After requesting car-parking, I told Alex that I'd require an early check-out at 6:00am for an early morning flight. The night before check-out, I double checked if my early check-out would be fine & I was told by the Night Manager (Jan, absolutely delightful) that the secure car-parking didn't open until 7:00am. I was slightly annoyed that this was never mentioned at check-in. It was sorted out by coming down at 5:00am, so she could ring security & have them open the gates by 6:00am for our drive to the airport. The pool & sauna was breath-taking. I didn't use the gym (technically on holiday...can you blame me?), but it was perfect for those who'd require their daily workout. I will be returning to Hobart & will definitely be staying with ibis Styles Hobart. I will also be recommending this hotel to not only family/friends, but to my clients at our Travel Agency.

A nice place for a few days in Hobart
Great location, right in the heart of the CBD and within walking distance of the Salamanca Markets. Clean, newer hotel. Wasn't a fan of the restaurant downstairs. Be aware that the rooms are small. I don't need anything big but a family would find it cramped. Good wifi. No view, but, again, I don't need anything fancy. It was quiet, which is what I want.

My most productive and efficient staying in Hobart
This is a quite new hotel with great view. I can see the bay area, colorful residential area, green mountain and of course blue sky from my bright and clean room. Everything is almost brand new. In particular, there is an excellent heated swimming pool featured with great view and super clean. This is the best hotel pool in terms of size, view and environment that I have ever seen so far. I have been Australia for almost three months and staying in several different hotels in different cities. Moreover, the Thai restaurant in the lobby serves non-spicy Thai food. I believe that people from Taiwan and Japan will like the cuisine but not Korean and Chinese. This is my second visit to Tasmania. The first was seventeen years ago with my family just for seeing Tasmania devils at my sons' request. Last time, I could only see old people and children. Almost no working age people. This time more people and more well developed. Anyway I enjoy staying there very much. It makes me very productive and efficient for writing, given the comfortable and agreeable facilities. Hopefully I will have a chance to come back to this hotel again. Actually I should thank my friend. She recommended me to stay the hotel after her trip earlier this year. I will definitely recommend to my friends to visit ibis Styles Hobart as well.
