The Grand Balisani is a traditional Balinese style hotel built around beautiful gardens and ponds. Some might say this property is a bit tired (and, to be fair, the area around the pool, pool loungers, etc could do with a bit of refurbishment) but we enjoyed our stay. It is well located on the beach and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful, the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

The staff were lovely however I was bitten badly by bed bugs on the first night. I asked for a room change which was given quickly. The new room was nearer to the beach however there was a digger working on the beach which started work at 2 am. No sleep or relaxation,spoke to staff who said it was a government contract and they choose their own hours. Very disappointed,stayed there August 2024.

Balisani was really nice, old school and spacious however we had a room near the Maris Beach Club which plays loud music until 9pm. Unfortunately this tanished our stay a little bit as we were looking forward to peace and quiet. Il Lido Italian food nearby has excellent food.

Location on the beach is great. I have come to this property for about 20 years . It has changed profoundly and its hugely disappointing. The food is really poor quality. Some of the staff are jaded and not pleasent Guests are encouraged to use the room safes now offered in every room.the place is not clean , dirty plates left in open air hallways for days as well as empty beer bottles. We were also charged twice for a room , some sort of double booking error , sorry nothing anyone can do - no way to call or access Expedia /Hotel .com . The stay was super stressful and double the cost. It was sad and disappointing - My brother and sister in law joined us and cut their trip short forfiting a full refund for the days cancelled , they did not feel safe staying. I will not return to the Bali Sani - very sad for the longtime loyal staff who do remain under what seems to be shabby management .

Unpleasant Stay
I was shocked that the hotel has no lift or ramp, but many steps to climb. Fortunately I brought my walking aid with me, and my daughter acts as my supporter. The room that I stayed over see the pool and sea. Was quite disappointed that seeing my condition, the staff did not automatically offer me a room on the ground floor. The water tasted salty. We used bottled drinking water to wash up. The hotel is definitely not friendly for wheelchair bound or people with weak legs. In my opinion, it is not safe for children. The breakfast was normal, not much varieties. The staff were friendly and courteous.

Old dirty mattress that should have been thrown out years ago. Would have been a great venue in its hey day but needs substantial investment if they want a sustainable operation. Literally operating on the smell of an oily rag. Luckily I was in the fortunate position to get alternative accommodation after the second night of my stay.
