Not worth the money
Owl lodge...We turned up and it's a summer house in someone's front garden. It's very over looked by the main house so you have no real privacy. You have use of a hot tub but again it's not private. The inside is actually lovely with everything you'll need. We kept the lounge curtains shut as it was facing the driveway, so everyone could see in. The view out the bedroom is a hedge and some trailers. Bedroom is very close to the road. The fridge had opened/used prosecco, oat milk, a banana drink and a few dodgy strawberries left in it, so it made me think it's not checked and cleaned properly. The shower was terrible, but hey it looked nice. The owners decided our stay would be a good time to have work done, so we had diggers and trailers coming and going all day so again takes away even more privacy and any chance of a bit of a relaxing weekend away. We felt like we had to go out to get some peace. We had a few visits from the family dogs. They were very sweet and just plodded around having a nose but if you don't like dogs you'll need to keep the door shut as there is no gate to keep them out. On check out you get a list of chores to do, these include cleaning, stripping and folding bedding, towels in shower tray, used dishes in dishwasher on eco, bins and recycling to be put out. This all screams that it's on the previous visitors to clean for the next. Not great. Due to our experience I do not recommend you stay here. I will definitely not be going back.

Wonderful! This was my first, but certainly not last, stay at Lancasters Cottage. I loved the quiet, rural location, the immaculate condition of the property and the generously sized room. The linens and bed were really comfortable and the breakfast, served in the room, was fabulous. Sarah was a perfect host and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

We just got home from our stay at Lancaster Cottage and compelled to write a review as it was just lovely. In a beautiful location albeit we did not pick the best weather, Sarah could not have been a lovelier host. I had injured my shoulder and somehow got a chest infection before travelling and she made sure she kept my ice pack frozen for me. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful and spotless, and breakfast first class and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Thank you- we would highly recommend and absolutely not hesitate to stay again. We also had dinner at the Windmill Inn during our stay which Sarah recommended and equally that was first class and very reasonably priced in our option. Again- thank you!

Wonderful room with USB outlets. Delicious breakfast served in our room. Friendly and lovely hostess. This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in and we have been traveling for over 30 years.

Lancasters Cottage is like a home away from home. Beautiful location in the countryside, but close to lots of pubs and tourist attractions. The Fern room is beautifully furnished with an ensuite. Sarah was a lovely host, friendly, efficient and breakfast was always on time. I would love to stay here again. Definitely recommend this property.

6/10 Good

Birthday booking
Not so good. Clean and tidy if rather expensive B&B. Surprisingly noisy at night, with bathroom and plumbing sounds from other rooms. Unfortunately would not recommend for guests travelling on foot, cycling or by public transport. Taxis required to Horsham for dinner, £20 each way and roads unsafe for walking, as heavy traffic and no footpaths.

The perfect stay
Lancasters Cottage is in a lovely location, the residence itself is splendid, and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Sarah was an impeccable host, breakfast was served fresh in our room, and the water pressure and temperature were fantastic. I will absolutely come back here next time I need accommodation in this area.

Beautiful, bright, clean and comfortable
Loved staying at the Lancasters Cottage. It was a home-from-home experience. Lovely little details made everything so comfortable. Our host was very friendly and served us with a delicious breakfast. Short walk to a pub that served decent food too! Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful, quiet setting and immaculate. Breakfast in the patio was a treat. It would have been nice to have a fan in the room as it was quite warm in the afternoon.
