My Bloomsbury - You’re OK! 😀
Everything was clean in my room and well serviced. Yes, the room is very small but as I was out all day and really only used the room for showering and sleeping , it was adequate. My bed (single) was comfortable and linen, very clean. I was high up so Street noise was not an issue for me. Front reception seemed to always be very busy and I did note that staff seemed a little overwhelmed and flustered at times. It’s a busy hotel, I get that, due to its central and convenient location but do feel that the checking in/out servicing needs to be really speeded up. Quite often it was only one person doing all the work. I am going back to stay in a few weeks as I was quite happy with my overall experience. People have written that rooms are often “small” and seem upset about this. We must remember, this is Europe, and if you want “space” you’ll pay dearly for it so don’t expect that at My Bloomsbury. I got a small room for a competitively moderate price in London. My money went on sites, shows and the London experience!!!

Fair 4.0
At most a two star hotel
The room was dirty, the carpet stained, even the walls had stains. The bathroom either had mould or was badly in need of another coat of paint. The toilet didn't even work. To top everything off they charged me incorrectly for extras. I would never recommend this unless you plan to spend the entire time in the lobby (which is nice and the only area that they have maintained).

Good 6.0
Small boutique hotel with some shortcomings.
The location of this hotel is fantastic, perfect for us as it was close to everything we needed to get to. so we were out for most of the time that we were in London. The rooms are small, so for a couple it was tight. it was even tighter with our bags there as well (we do travel with a least 2 large bags and 2 carry ons). we have never felt that sort of squeeze in other hotel rooms , so beware if you need space or if you suffer from claustrophobia. (as one of us does). The room temp was set to 32 degrees, so we turned on the air conditioning even though it was only 9 degrees outside! Furniture is on the budget side, with a mattress on a slat bed, it is low to the ground. Bathroom had tiles falling off the wall, and if upstairs had a shower, it leaked into our bathroom. It has the potential to be a beautiful hotel, it just is a bit shabby, and so we were disappointed, hence the neutral icon selection

Location is key
Great locations, had some concerns about noise on a Saturday night as we were on first floor directly over pub but we came in around midnight and didn't have a problem. Room was a bit tight and a little tired, chipped furnishing, window a bit dodgy, discoloured grout in the bathroom and awful silicone work (yes I'm a plumber) and I don't think a beige carpet is ever a wise choice as shows a few drip/dirt marks. The bathroom design was a little awkward with not much space squeezing in between toilet and basin to the shower. The bed area was narrow and could benefit from bed side shelves or something for water/phone/pot noodle. That said, it is an old building in central london and everything works well and was fairly modern. Location is the real winner and the price reflects that and is fair. Probably would stay again.

Perfect for a night in the city...
Had a great stay. Love the hotel. Amazing location. Bring connected to Gails Bakery was a joy!! Service was fantastic.... rang down to reception to borrow an iron and they bought one up within 5 minutes. Likewise with ice... Will definitely return.
