Altstadt Frankfurt
Frankfurt's Old Town is where medieval magic meets modern charm on the Main riverfront. The reconstructed Römerberg square buzzes with travellers snapping pics of those fairy-tale gabled buildings that survived the war. Frankfurt Cathedral's Gothic spires tower above cobblestone streets where you can wander between museums and traditional apple wine taverns without dodging traffic. Hop on the U-Bahn at Dom-Römer station when your feet need a break from those charming but uneven cobblestones. The area offers everything from cosy boutique hotels in converted historic buildings to modern accommodation with old-world views. Kleinmarkthalle market serves up local treats while the riverfront promenade delivers postcard-worthy city skyline shots.

Bahnhofsviertel
Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel buzzes with energy around the impressive main train station. The area serves up a feast of international flavours with Turkish döner and Middle Eastern mezze dominating the food scene. Kaiserstrasse offers shopping opportunities while the nearby Museumsufer delivers cultural experiences just a short stroll away. Budget hotels and hostels make this area affordable for travellers who value convenience. With three tram stops and direct access to regional and international trains, you can zip around Frankfurt without hassle. The vibrant mix of ethnic markets and 24-hour establishments keeps this walkable district humming day and night.

Sachsenhausen Nord
Sachsenhausen Nord serves up Frankfurt's soul with every sip of apple wine in its traditional taverns. Cobblestone streets wind past half-timbered buildings where ceramic jugs clink and locals gather. Museum lovers can explore the impressive Staedel Museum and Museumsufer's cultural treasures, while evening entertainment buzzes along Schweizer Straße. Getting around is a breeze with several transit options including the Schweizer Place U-Bahn and South Station. Cosy boutique hotels in converted historic buildings offer authentic German hospitality within walking distance of the Main River. The area perfectly balances tourist appeal with genuine local experiences.

Innenstadt
Frankfurt's Innenstadt blends historic charm with modern financial energy. Wander cobblestone paths at reconstructed Römerberg square before gazing up at the towering glass headquarters of European banks. Shop at MyZeil mall or upscale Goethestrasse boutiques, then admire the Gothic spires of Kaiserdom cathedral. The Stock Exchange and Hauptwache offer glimpses into the city's fascinating past. Excellent public transit connects you to anywhere in Frankfurt, with multiple metro stations including Hauptwache and Eschenheimer Tor. Dining options range from traditional Apfelwein taverns to international business restaurants. The Main River waterfront is just a short walk away, perfect for a relaxing break from the urban bustle.

Gallus
Gallus blends industrial grit with multicultural flavour in this evolving Frankfurt area. The Gallus Theatre anchors a budding arts scene while Turkish bakeries and Italian trattorias line Mainzer Landstraße. Skyline Plaza offers shopping thrills, and converted warehouses now house artist studios where creativity flows freely. Well-connected by S-Bahn and tram lines, getting around is a breeze. Budget travellers appreciate the affordable accommodation and authentic eateries that cost less than city centre spots. For a genuine Frankfurt experience away from tourist crowds, Gallus delivers cultural richness without breaking the bank.

"Everything simple and straight forward in this hotel - great value for spending a night to fly out the next morning. Unfortunately the shuttle bust no longer runs, but taxi/Uber works as well."

"Alles gut , zimmer war sauber ..die klima hat funktioniert auch bei 38° draußen konnten wir gut schlafen, zimmer zur Straße und es war trotzdem sehr leise ...nur der Vorhang vor der Verglasung außen im zimmer vor der Dusche ist viel zu klein weil man durch das Milchglas bei Licht trotzdem durchsehen konnte.. sonst alles gut,"

IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3
"This hotel is easy to reach and makes a good spot to rest if you have a long layover at Frankfurt airport. Check-in was very simple at a kiosk in the lobby, the room was clean, and WiFi worked well."
Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt
"The place was great, nice room. We were traveling with kids and chose the hotel because of the pool. Unfortunately upon arrival we found out that the pool was closed due to technical issues, and the front desk offered us free breakfast as compensation. That was thoughtful and the breakfast was indeed fantastic, but it didn't help with entertaining the kids. However the forest was wonderful! Definitely recommend a walk to run ifif you're at this hotel."

"It was all very good"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Frankfurt
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Frankfurt is during July, August, and December, when hotel prices may drop, offering great value for money. To fully appreciate the city's rich history and vibrant culture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this time, you can explore key landmarks such as impressive skyscrapers, historical monuments, and engaging museums. Additionally, you might enjoy leisurely walks through the urban landscape, stopping at charming cafes and indulging in some shopping to experience the essence of Frankfurt's cultural scene.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Frankfurt, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't miss opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. By keeping an eye on price drops and room availability, you're more likely to secure a fantastic last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your hotel stay in Frankfurt. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll recommend alternative dates that could help you secure a better deal.
- Consider your location: Choosing accommodation near major attractions or city centres may provide added convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For those seeking more affordable options, it’s worth considering hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You might also look into independent hotels located a bit further out, which are usually likely to be more affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
