Amazing location, right near Queensway and the park. Helpful receptionist. The room was small, which was fine and has nice new carpet, and was quiet, however it had a odd, smell to it, prehaps damp or something, I think from the bathroom?. No aircon, or fan, no desk or chair and no tea or coffee facilities in the room, which other similar priced hotels would provide. Unsure if I'd stay again.

I booked this about a month before our trip as it was a great price, but then noticed some not so positive reviews. However, I think this are completely unfair. This is a budget hotel in a FANTASTIC area of London. Safe and convenient, you don’t even need to leave to have a good time. And if you want to go to central you and Queensway and Bayswater to get you there - amazing! There isn’t anything in way of amenities except for soaps in the room. But we only needed somewhere to sleep at night and this was perfect. My only negatives were no AC or fans during the heat wave 😅 the mattress was extremely hard, however we ended up sleeping really well. There could also be a smell from the bathroom in the evening, but just seemed to be a sitting water smell. Staff were all friendly and rooms were tidied every morning. Very happy with this stay and would recommend if you’re looking for an affordable/convenient place in London.

August 2023..great stay in London

Stayed here in August 2023 for Two nights while in London to visit the theatre. Great location near Hyde Park and Bayswater high street which has all the usual shops & restaurants. 2 minutes walk from Queensway Underground which will get you into the heart of the city in 5 stops. The room was clean & comfy with enough space for are cases. No kettle or hairdryer though🙃. Adi on reception was helpful. Will book again when back in the big smoke.

Imagine a stay without hand towels, hairdryer and proper check-in & check-out. The street was so loud but the location overall was very convenient. There is only one guy at the front desk and he always tries to be very helpful but it was a one-man show in the end. Don't expect much.

Great value accommodation.

I didnt catch the name of the host, but he allowed me to store my bag before check in and was still on shift in the afternoon, evening and the following morning when i checked out. He was very polite and informative and the room i shared with my brother and sister for our brief trip to London was perfectly clean and spacious enough for the three of us. Street noise was very minimal and although we saw plenty of people in the public areas, we didnt hear anything from the other rooms once we were in our room. Locationwise we were 5 minutes from a tube, but the bus line only 2 minutes away went straight through to Oxford street which was exactly what we needed.

The property overall was clean. The staff were a bit lacking with information. Didn't pass on the fact that breakfast isn't available or there is a WiFi code. The door lock with card also didn't work and although the room was clean not as picture. No headboards and not a 32" TV. No remote available for it either. The hotel was disappointing. You are only allowed 1 room key. When we asked for a second they said they would walk us to the room but can’t give a second key. No cover over the main light so just a glaring bulb. There was no remote control for the tv. When we asked at the desk they provided one that did not work. The automatic lights in the halls and elevator timed out quickly so you were in the dark. Sink blocks the entrance to the bathroom. Laundry bags piled in the elevator. Staff is uninterested in being on shift. Need to ask for more towels and toilet paper if you stay more than 1 night. Location was great. Pick another hotel in the area.

Shower head was full of mould. There was a horrible smell from the drains in the bathroom, it was so bad at times that we woke up during the night. The curtains had some brown sticky substance smeared on them. The wall around the toilet paper holder had brown stains. The receptionist was very unprofessional and tried to make funny remarks.

Terrible stay — I would never book this hotel again This was a truly terrible experience from start to finish. The receptionist was extremely unfriendly and kept sighing when I asked questions during check-in, which made me feel very unwelcome. To make matters worse, the entrance door to the hotel was locked. The receptionist was sitting in another room instead of at the reception desk and refused to give me the door code. As a result, I had to wait outside until he eventually appeared. Later that evening, I waited an incredibly long time again and eventually gave up. I decided to stay with a friend who was staying at the Central Park Hotel across the street. I didn’t even sleep at the Apollo Hotel. A complete waste of money. Based on this experience, I will definitely never reserve a room here again. I strongly recommend improving the customer service and the check-in process.

Room had a very strong chemical smell, especially in the bathroom. As for staff they were very friendly, but we were told that there would be no housekeeping. However, the cleaning staff came three times to knock at our door before 11am during our stay. I asked twice to not have my room serviced (no ‘do not disturb’ handle), but they came anyway. Not having a safe in the room, I wasn’t very comfortable with having a stranger in my room during my stay.
