    A nice stay, just a couple of changes

    It was a lovely stay, there's just a couple of things that I would say is there should be more suitable tables to sit at for breakfast & not low sofas & tables. Also the Gordon Ramsey restaurant as a very limited menu that doesn't suit everyone's taste, we was very disappointed as we have gone in the Grill restaurant before it was changed & it was much better.

    Anniversary stay

    My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary so chose to stay 2 nights. From the room upgrade to the afternoon tea and a lovely meal at the amazing Solas restaurant the whole experience was sublime. The staff made our stay very special and memorable.

    It’s an iconic hotel but it’s not everything

    Ate at the Savoy Grill, truly wonderful, can’t recommend that highly enough. The hotel reception is amazing as are all of the common areas. My main disappointments were that my room was small and dated, no walk in shower just a shower in the bath, the room was apparently an upgrade but as I book more on hotels.com versus directly with the hotels or chains themselves it’s becoming more apparent that the rooms through hotels.com are ‘compromised’. They’re the smaller rooms or those with poor views, in this instance the room felt extremely dated. I’ve stayed in many better but cheaper hotels. Shame as this was supposed to be a 50th birthday treat. Then there was the pool, despite trying to book a slot several days before my trip I couldn’t, all taken. Lastly and most disappointingly was being bumped from my reservation at Beaufort’s bar. Although the staff did their utmost, including a free glass of bubbly for my guests and I at the pop-up Solace bar, there was still a feeling of ‘not being worthy’ not the ‘one in a million’ I was hoping for. The staff and service are simply sublime and a credit to their profession. Final word to the wise, check your bill, mine has two spa treatments and my wife only had one. One was on their as a I checked out and another appeared on the emailed bill. I know the industry is just starting up again after a significant break but this is an essential item not to get wrong. We sampled two world famous hotels this weekend, ate Savoy comes second.

    The London Savoy is better than home!

    I spent 5 days at the Savoy last week during London’s second lockdown, and my time at the Savoy was lovely. The staff made me feel so well cared for, and the quality of every meal (I think I sampled almost everything on the menu) was beyond outstanding! I will definitely stay at the Savoy the next time, and every time, I travel to London in the future. This is an exceptional experience that should not be missed!
