The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the hotel's heritage architecture added a unique charm. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I am understand the supposed 200 sqft+ room in Singapore becoming tiny, but having a pillar go right through the middle of the room, occupying a third of the available space and creating a risk of a 'nasty bump' in the middle of the night is plain unacceptable. Still leaving some stars for the great staff and location.

The hotel itself was fine - the room was basic, but clean and the staff were very nice. However, we found it extremely difficult to sleep as a bar in the square was doing exceptionally loud karaoke on a Monday night until 1AM. The room was not remotely sound proofed, as proven by being able to hear the bar most of the night as well as our neighbours in their rooms and in the hall.
