Hossegor's seafront boardwalk runs between Plage Centrale and Plage Sud, offering excellent views of the ocean and the Pyrenees mountain range along the way. You can park in the public car park in the north, on Avenue des Hippocampes, or in the south, on Avenue des Syngnathes.
The raised footpath spans 1 km, with several benches and a footbridge where you can watch the sunset at the end of the day. You'll pass several houses with Basco-Landais architectural styles, such as corbelled balconies and red wooden shutters

The lake fills and empties with the tides, giving it a different appearance depending on the time. Its scenic setting makes it popular for romantic walks along the edge of the water. The lake often attracts cormorants, seagulls and grey herons. Hossegor Lake is the only oyster farming area in Landes – you'll find many small wooden cabins selling fresh oysters.

Le Barthes is a wildlife park covering 50 ha of protected wetlands in Hossegor. Not only does it provide a natural habitat for wild birds and insects, but it's also great for nature enthusiasts looking to enjoy some time away from the city and beaches.
A 3.7-km-long boardwalk leads to the marsh observatories, which have information boards describing the different species of birds you might see, such as water hens, little egrets, common buzzards and grey herons. You can also see many cows and horses wandering the pastures of Le Barthes.
