Small room, good for Edinburgh prices, wouldn’t be good for elderly or mobility issues, bed is a little hard too

2/10 Poor

Lack of amenities
No hot water in the morning, we had to walk down two flights of stairs as there’s no lift to ask for hot water for a shower. No chair, no drink making facilities in the room. I believe these things should be basic amenities at any hotel.

More Space on a Plane
There was no window in the room which i was aware of as it was the last room. The room was small and should have been a single as there was no room to move, the toilet can only be described as minature, i have seen bigger bathrooms on trains and planes. Was definitely not worth the money
Small bed with no room to walk around
You could pea, shower and brush your teeth at same time

Clean & compact
The room does everything it says but is so tiny that one of you must stay on the bed while the other is up so getting changed or being in the room for anything other than sleeping is hard work!

Tight Fit
When we arrived at the hotel the 1st thing we noticed was that there was no lift, so if you have mobility issues, this hotel isn't for you. The stairs up to the reception were quite steep and my partner had to stop halfway as she has trouble with her hip and knee and is not great with stairs. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. Luckily, we were placed on the first floor, so there were no more stairs to climb. As we entered we noticed how little room there was and that the bed virtually filled the room, but that was no problem as we were going to be out for most of the day and evening. The bathroom was fairly tight too, but adequate, and the bed was quite comfortable. What made up for it all was the spectacular view we had of Edinburgh Castle and the old town as the wall was virtually all glass. The location of the hotel was great, with bus stops right outside the hotel and Princes Street Gardens opposite.

Don't book if you're tall!
The rooms are tiny with the beds crammed into the rooms, being wall to wall. I'm 6 foot and I had to bend my knees, or sleep horizontally. Cheap and cheerful though, get exactly what you pay for!

Death Trap
When I arrived at the room I realized immediately it was not the room I reserved. I asked to be moved to the room I reserved and she said that was not possible as I had already checked in. I feel like this was a classic bait & switch. I specifically paid a higher fee to get the room I wanted. I told them I either need the room I reserved or a refund, as I knew I could not stay in that room one night. The room was dangerous. It had a window that didn't open. It was a death trap.

God location overpriced for what you get
Great location right on Prince St, very close to castle. Room was very small, no windows and limited service. Could hear everything from close rooms

Opposite of a tardis.
The room was described as compact, it certainly was you could struggle to get around the bed. The en suite was a pod in the corner, I’ve seen toilets in trains bigger the shower was up to edge of toilet. Difficult to use loo as it had no room to move as it was next to sink unit. The shower did not drain quick enough to leave the shower on whilst shampooing. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. No room for luggage in room had to block the floor area ( which was minimal) and no wardrobe space just a fixed hanger and two pegs. Two people could not pass in the room you had to stand by the doorway to exchange places. So if you want a pod room it’s for you. For the price paid it was poor. Our choice but not booking again soon.

OK, but cramped
It was clean and easy access from Princess Street. So the location is superb. Room clean although how to get a small room as that messy woud be a challenge. Room just big enough for a double bed. So no drawers or wardrobes. Tea and coffee was available in the reception, but not in the room. OK to stop for a couple of days or overnight. No good if you want a table to work at.
