Convenient and Friendly Hotel Near Penn Station
All of the staff members, from front desk to housekeeping, were excellent. Location was fantastic, short walk to Pennsylvania Station and many subway lines. And the Essen deli directly across the street was a well-priced, clean option for any meal.

Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square South booked via Hotels.com, 1 night 2 Jan 2025. The theme of this hotel, is “TINY.” I get it, it’s New York. Entering a small lobby, small restaurant and small bedroom. The room was cozy, clean and smartly furnished to match the small space. There was not enough space for my luggage, the room was clean, and the bedding was crisp and comfortable. The bathroom was clean, with all the necessary amities, in a compact space. There was no water provided. What impressed me the most about this “TINY” hotel, was the genuinely friendly staff eager to assist and make sure the stay was nothing short of excellent. With about three blocks from Penn Station, ample delis , coffee shops, 7-Eleven and shopping within a stone through from the hotel, the location is golden.

Great room and friendly staff
We stayed at DoubleTree Times Square south while on a short, fast-paced trip to NYC. We paid a bit extra for an Empire State Building view (worth it). The rooftop bar offers amazing, almost 360, views of the city. Reception area can get slightly busy at check in/out times as it’s only small. Our biggest moan would be the elevators, with only 3 serving the 29 floors. You sometimes have to wait a while.
