Check-in was super easy and all the staff were very friendly. The hotel was close to a lot of things to do and eat. Very walkable area and safe. The room itself was small but it seems like rooms in Japan are small in general. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. I would for sure stay there again.

Fantastic location with a great Italian restaurant just around the corner. Disappointed it identified it had a restaurant but this was only for breakfast. Fortunately you could buy drinks here if you wished. Breakfast was good.

The room was narrow and small but comfortable. It's conveniently located to restaurants and attractions. One of the front desk clerks wanted to charge us for checking in half hour before the 3 p.m. check in. But after checking with somebody in the back, she came back to say the room is ready and there won't be any charge. That was a little strange. Overall we were satisfied with the Granbell.

Amazing property, especially for the price (near $100 USD per night). Great location for shopping, sight seeing and train. Very stylish room with extra seating and just enough room for luggage. Very friendly staff and nice lounge area. The men’s onsen was also very cool. Would not look anywhere else if I stay in Kyoto again in the future.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel!!! The hotel is beautiful right from the start, as soon as you walk in! It’s in the most PERFECT location ever, walkable distance to train stations, several restaurants, shopping centers, convenient stores, everything!! You will not regret staying here, trust me. Great hotel right in the heart of the city. Super convenient to be able to walk to Nishiki market and the surrounding areas with ease each day. The staff was super friendly and the amenities were great. Even had an onsen in the basement to wind down after a busy day. Would certainly recommend!
