Ideal Location, Great Service
This is an ideal location for exploring Kyoto and surrounding area. It is also worth keeping in mind its location in the station saves you from transiting your bags on the local trains or with taxis. Only comment was the smell of smoke in the hallways. I am suspicious there are smoking rooms or business travelers have a smoke break in the hallways on occasion.

Amazing staff, beautiful hotel
Arrived early in the morning, no worries, they not only stored our luggage for the day while we went on a tour, they delivered it to our room before we returned from or tour. In addition, I dropped my camera lens hood and the conceirge went into action and found it. Amazing staff, very caring

6/10 Good

Loaction great, but needs a 21st Century Make over
Location is perfect - right above the main JR station and super easy for getting around town from here. I would say that it's starting to look a bit tired and needs a revamp. That being said, it's busy and bustling - so a popular hotel for groups and domestic travellers. However, hotels like the Park Hyatt and The Thousand set a new benchmark for top end hotels in Kyoto.

I like the big and spacious room. But I don't really like the breakfast which was very generic.
