Ubud City-Centre
Ubud City-Centre pulses with Balinese artistic energy and spiritual vibes at every turn. Sacred Monkey Forest tempts with mischievous primates swinging through ancient moss-covered temples. The Traditional Art Market buzzes with local craftspeople selling intricate batiks and wood carvings. Campuhan Ridge Walk rewards early risers with emerald valley views while traditional dance performances light up Ubud Palace nightly. Most visitors navigate the compact centre on foot, though scooter rentals and ride-sharing apps make exploring rice terraces beyond town easy. Dining ranges from $2 local warungs to plant-based cafes catering to yoga enthusiasts. Boutique hotels and traditional guesthouses nestle among tropical gardens, offering peaceful retreats from the lively cultural hub.

Nyuh Kuning
Nyuh Kuning gives you authentic Balinese village life without the tourist hustle. This peaceful area sits right next to the famous Monkey Forest, where ancient temples peek through jungle canopy. Watch master woodcarvers and painters create traditional art in open-air workshops. Join a local family for home-cooked meals, or wander through compounds with intricate stone carvings and colourful ceremonial gates. Small family-run warungs serve delicious nasi campur and traditional satay at wallet-friendly prices. Most places close early, matching the village's natural rhythms. Homestays and modest guesthouses offer genuine cultural exchange with Balinese families. Walking paths connect to central Ubud in about 20 minutes, with motorcycle taxis available for quicker trips.

Pengosekan
Pengosekan gives you Bali's rich culture without the tourist crush. The area is home to traditional woodcarving workshops where you can watch skilled artists transform teak into treasures. Sacred temples peek out between emerald rice terraces, while art galleries showcase vibrant Balinese paintings. The Ubud Monkey Forest offers wild encounters just minutes away. Stay in converted family compounds where cockerels serve as your alarm clock. Local warungs dish up authentic nasi campur and bebek betutu for just a few dollars. Getting around requires ojeks or rented bicycles since public transport is limited. Morning mist over the rice fields makes every early wake-up worthwhile.

Sambahan
Sambahan offers a peek into real Balinese village life where rice terraces roll into the distance and temple ceremonies fill the air. This peaceful spot lets you step away from tourist crowds and into a world of traditional architecture, morning gamelan music, and aromatic incense from daily offerings. Take gentle walks through lush tropical landscapes or learn about rice farming from locals who've done it for generations. Meals here come from family homestays and simple warungs serving authentic Balinese cooking with ingredients from nearby gardens. Getting around means walking narrow village paths or arranging private transport to nearby Ubud. Traditional compounds with thatched roofs and carved details provide a genuine cultural immersion for travellers seeking the quiet side of Bali.

Impiana Private Villas Ubud
"I’ve traveled the world and this was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The staff is more than helpful and extremely pleasant. The grounds are incredibly beautiful with wonderful pools and staff . I would 100% return"
Ayung Resort Ubud
"We had an incredible stay at Ayung Resort Ubud and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The resort is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views that create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, making it the perfect place to unwind after exploring Ubud. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel valued. The service was consistently outstanding and really made the trip feel special. The food was delicious with a great variety of options, and enjoying meals while overlooking the stunning scenery was a highlight each day. The entire property is well maintained and offers a perfect balance of luxury, tranquility, and authentic Balinese charm. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Ayung Resort Ubud to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing stay in Bali."
Maya Ubud Resort and Spa
"Staff was very helpful and everyone from cleaning to pool were very nice. The pools were amazing, especially the adult only one. We tried a few experiences: Teppayanki: great taste and friendly chef, was a lot of fun. Only negative is the sauce maybe been a bit too buttery In villa dining: the staff set up a nice table and BBQ in our villa. The food was fresh off the grill and delicious with very generous portions."
Bali Bohemia
"This was one of my favourite places to stay in Bali. Right away the staff were so kind and helpful. The room I was in had a sitting area and a loft, and the decor was absolutely stunning. It was very bohemian which is totally my vibe. The room was an amazing size and the patio had the most beautiful chairs that overlooked the pool area. Just around the corner (about a minute walk maybe) is their Bali Bohemia restaurant. WOW! Their food was amazing and once again, the staff were incredibly kind. The decor and music was incredible. The monkey forest is right outside the hotel and restaurant, which I really enjoyed. I love animals and seeing the monkeys around the area was super cute. If the monkeys got too close, the staff were on top of getting them away, but I personally loved seeing them so close up, and they didn’t bother me at all. I will 100% stay here again!"
Element by Marriott Bali Ubud
"Not a big of a deal but water leaked from the shower room into the toilet area. It would be helpful if there are more towels placed in the room. I requested to leave extra towels in the room for the second night, but they didn't. It worked out ok. All the hotel staffs are nice and friendly. They are very helpful. The hotel gave us such a warm hospitality. I would stay there again."
The Westin Resort & Spa Ubud, Bali
"A superb hotel. Spent a week here in July 2026. Received a very warm welcome upon arrival and checked in to a standard room, more than adequate, spacious with a walk in shower and bath room. Bed was super comfy and huge! The pool area is more than adequate with sun beds available at all hours of the day. The pool has a great view over the nearby forest. Took advantage of the spa which provided excellent treatment, a little bit of extra luxury. The breakfast is very good with all you’d expect from a buffet catering to all cultural tastes. The 2 restaurants are good, although you may wish to go farther afield for some authentic Indonesian cuisine. Plenty available. The staff are super attentive, always around to serve at the pool or dining facilities. Always a sincere friendly greeting. The hotel Is about a 15 minute cheap taxi out of Ubud away from the busy areas. Only minor read for improvement would be room balcony, ours was a little shabby and not so Inviting as it was very close to the main road. Maybe request a room facing away from the road if affected by noise. Overall we would definitely visit again and recommend to any wishing to visit Ubud."
The Evitel Resort Ubud
"Cleaness, friendly staff,close the shops."
SereS Springs Resort & Spa Singakerta
"This place is everything. It’s beautiful! I stayed in an upper pool room and it was so peaceful! I will definitely stay here again. The staff was very kind and helpful. I highly recommend"
SenS Hotel and Spa Conference Ubud Town Centre
"Very clean room and all the amenities were excellent. Location is fabulous. Very warm and welcoming staff. A little sound proofing of the walls is required for peaceful sleep."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Ubud
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Ubud is during February, March, and November, when hotel prices may drop. For a budget-friendly getaway, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended to fully appreciate the area's key cultural landmarks and attractions. During your visit, you can explore stunning temples, lush forests, and enjoy traditional Balinese dance performances. Additionally, engaging in local spa treatments, yoga sessions, biking through scenic landscapes, or even rafting can provide great value for money while immersing yourself in the rich artistic heritage of Ubud.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Ubud, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications can keep you informed about flash sales and exclusive last-minute promotions, ensuring you don't miss opportunities to save on Ubud accommodation. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a comparison tool available through the app that allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best deals, including luxury hotel options, and book your getaway swiftly.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at an Ubud hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we may suggest more affordable dates to enhance your chances of securing a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive; however, given Ubud's excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often remarkable value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
