No staff on site can cause problems
The studio room I had was ok but one night at ten pm, when I returned after going out, I could not get back in to my room. The code to the lock did not work. I phoned the after - hours number and was told that they knew the lock was a problem but they did not know what to do about it. The people in the room next door had also been locked out of their room and knew how to fix the lock. If it had not been for them, I would have beenwalking around Launceston late at night looking for another hotel. For this reason I would not stay there again, and if you do I recommend that you have a back up plan in case you get locked out.

Beautiful Apartment, Great Location
Ashcroft has been beautifully renovated with period features. It is luxurious and comfortable. They sms the door code the day before check-in which makes it simple and convenient to come and go. There are no staff on site although their mobile number is included in the sms if you need to contact them. The king-size bed in our room was divine. There is a separate bathroom with toiletries and lovely plush towels. The shower was excellent with lots of hot water. There is a private balcony. There is a fridge, kettle, and toaster. They supplied lots of Twinings teabags, good coffee, chocolates and bottles of water. The Internet was slow and kept dropping out. The free carpark is behind the building and you have to walk back around the front to get to your room. This made it a little difficult to bring luggage in. The walls are thin and, unfortunately, we had extremely noisy people in the room next door who kept us awake until nearly midnight and woke us again at 3am with their talking. This is no fault of the landlord but better soundproofing might help. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful spot
The apartment we stayed in was delightful. It isn't big, but had all of amenities as described and was very comfortable. Communication with the management was easy and the location was good (easy walking distance to the city centre. The highlight was undoubtedly the spa, which was practical in that it was designed to do shoulders and feet at the same time and it was easy to shut down some jets in order to focus the output from others.

Average accommodation in good location
The accommodation was ok but wouldn’t call it luxurious. The queen room was generous in size as was the bathroom. However it only had a shower and no tub. The neighbours were friendly but horribly noisy. But most annoying of all were the electronic door locks. More than once I was left standing out in the cold and dark waiting for those to reset. Picture shows the view while waiting for the electronic lock to reset.

Exceptional 10.0
Nice, clean and comfortable.
Lovely room and no need for keys, just codes for entry. Does need curtains in bedroom though.
