Good 6.0
Room is not very comfortable. No air conditioning and not spacious. The room was not as clean as we’d like. Our “courtyard view” was a wall and when we opened the window, we were met with a terrible odor. At the end of my stay, they tried to charge me again for the duration of my stay even though it was already paid for. Luckily, this discrepancy was fixed.

Poor 2.0
This hotel was not as advertised. The rooms were very small, smelled bad, were stuffy, and had no AC. The bathroom was tiny and the water pressure was bad. The towels smelled, sheets were rough. It was extremely uncomfortable trying to sleep here in November, I can’t imagine the summer. There was no AC, and if we opened our window for air, it opened into a small opening within the hotel that smelled worse than our stuffy room. There was only a small elevator that barely fit the two of us with our bags. We used the stairs mostly. The stairs were tiny, slanted and borderline unsafe. The hallways were almost always blocked by linens and trash bags from the cleaning staff. The lobby had a very foul odor that I can only describe as hot garbage. They also make you leave your key at the front desk each time you exit the building and retrieve it each time you return. This process was annoying and unnecessary. Overall this hotel was not as advertised. In fact, it was shockingly different than the ad on Expedia. This was by far the worst hotel we’ve stayed at while traveling.

Very good 8.0
Quaint Hotel - Great Location
We spent a week in Paris and so got to spend some time at Hotel Jeanne D'Arc. From the outset and throughout our stay the staff were inviting and warm, and they gave the impression that nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms we stayed in were clean and comfortable (we were upgraded during our stay - thanks team! - so got to see 2 types of room). The breakfasts provided by the hotel are the typical petite dejeuner which are a fabulously French way to start the day. The hotel has no restaurant but it is (almost literally) surrounded by good places to eat (Les Bourgresses was a particular favourite). One of the key benefits of the hotel is its location. Firstly, it is located in the heart of Le Marais, which means it is surrounded by good food, shopping and places of interest. We spent more than a day walking around and getting (happily) lost in Le Marais. Secondly, the hotel is a 5 minute stroll from the St Paul metro station, which provides easy access to train and bus services around the city. Getting to and from St Paul via train or bus was never an issue for us.

Exceptional 10.0
Great hotel for a short stay & solo travellers
The hotel is conventiently located in the heart of Le Marais, near St Paul, surrounded by wonderful boutiques and cafes. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and gave me some good restaurant recommendations. The hotel is clean, warm and quaint and the room - while small - is comfortable and stylishly furnished. There's also a nice lounge area on the main floor with complimentary snacks, tea and coffee which many people took advantage of to sit and plan their itineraries or simply read. A few things let it down slightly: - I was only there for 1 day, yet the very narrow hallway was blocked by the cleaning staff (buckets, garbage bags etc) on 3 occasions. I could hardly move my bags through and even when they saw me struggling, they continued to chat amongst themselves and didn't attempt to tidy up their things in order to clear a path. - The lack of AC wasn't a problem for the temperature in May, but the room did get stuffy. Yet I couldn't open my window for air circulation since it opened out into a dirty, dark airway in the middle of the building where I could see piles of paint dust. - The toilet faces the door so closely that it's impossible for someone tall to actually use the toilet and close the door at the same time.

Exceptional 10.0
Located in a quiet side street of the Marais district near lovely clothes and art shops and just around the corner from the Picasso This is a friendly, small hotel in the process of a refurb ( some building noise in the day at the moment) which looks set to be giving a funky modern feel to the hotel. For our first night we had a small room on the 4th floor - very nicely decorated with a tiny but immaculately clean bathroom with a large modern walk in shower. As I was travelling with my elderly mother I had requested a room with a bath on a lower floor. As soon as one was available we were moved without fuss. This larger room was equally clean and had a larger bathroom with a shower over the bath. Staff were friendly and breakfast in the small, bright open space opposite the lobby is sociable with guests offering tips on where to eat and what to visit. I will definitely use this hotel again in the future.
