2/10 Poor
28 Dec 2018
Dirty and disappointing. Don't bother.
This place was very disappointing. It has the air of a place going out of business. The staff didn't seem to care about the condition of it, and there was a charge for absolutely everything. For a surf camp it was surprising that there was no beach or area to surf by the property. They also didn't seem to be keen to teach surfing it's only for established surfers, which then have to pay $50 a day to surf. The property itself was the biggest let down. Extremely basic to the point of it being basically camping. Toilets and showers are outdoors and covered in mosquitos and insects, not clean and rooms the same. No evidence of the staff cleaning during our stay. It's not uncommon for bathrooms to be open air, but they could be clean and we felt if the bathrooms had been cleaned properly the number of insects would've been improved. No windows or proper netting on the rooms so they were also full of Mosquitos etc. Lucky we had our own mosquito net or we would not have survived.
Pool also not clean and we didn't see any guests use it for our entire stay. We checked out early, as did other guests during our stay as there really is much better options than this one. The property is also very isolated so no option other than to have the meal plan, which was not good value for money. A real shame as it is clearly family run and owned, so had the potential for a nice family feel, but it was just all terrible quality.
