Room smelt like mould/damp
By Paris standards, the size of the shoe box room and the 1 person lift that was the size of a broom cupboard is pretty much standard. So is the breakfast- consisting of bread, croissants and jam, tea, coffee, oj and not much else. The house keeping staff did a wonderful job. Was sick for a couple of days and they were literally cleaning the rooms and common passage ways day in and day out. However, the one thing I expect from a hotel is acoustic privacy, security and a healthy environment. 1. The room smelled like mould coming from the pipes/ shower drains. It smelt like a cat had died. Can’t have been good for S to breathe that. There were also signs of mould and damp coming in on the exterior wall near the window. 2. The walls were paper thin. We could hear the old guy in the room next to us snoring in the early hours of the morning. It was like being caught in a fog horn. 3. The reception may as well not exist as the reception staff were always facing a wall behind the desk so when people enter most of the time they don’t bother to look up to see who it is. 4. Beware, like most hotels, the photos shown on the website appear to be taken with a wide angled camera lens. To get a true feel of what 14/15sqm room feels like spatially- I’d suggest you step it out. This includes the shower, toilet, bed- the lot 5. Both of us left with a sore Lower back- mattress must have been old and needed an upgrade. Will Be staying somewhere else the next time we are in Par

great location but some issues
Terrific location, comfortable bed, nice modern design in v small space but fortunately I was just one small person in a double room, but.... wifi is set for 4 hrs and I forgot to log in later in the evening and ended up using a whole lot of data. Very annoying and a bother to keep rejoining and there was trouble doing it on occasion- reception couldn’t figure it out! The shower-sink configuration was a pain, particularly if you want a daily shower. With a sink inside the shower, plus 4 nice big fluffy towels hanging inside the shower - so each day I had to put them on the floor to have a shower. Room service would put them back up then down I’d take them again. Unless you hold the hand shower - difficult if washing your hair or lathering up - expect to have water right out into your room. 2 big windows opened up so I could see the street life. The phone in the room didn’t work which normally is irrelevant but 2xs I needed to ask reception a question...I needed to go back down 2 flights of stairs. Reception was a mix of very helpful to downright annoying;one particular nut was shouting into the phone about family issues while a couple of up were using the stronger wifi in reception. Another French woman requested a couple of times to pls tone it down as it was incessant for over 20 min but our complaints were largely ignored. Oh my! Breakfast was good - croissants, baguette, jam, butter, orange juice and coffee. Unfortunately no decafe but someone fetched herbal tea.

Poor
A total disappointment
A total disappointment. In photos it is like new hotel. Booked a superior double which is a tiny room. I wonder how a standard one is as barely one big luggage fits into the room. An elevator that one person fits only. No minibar in the room not even a complimentary bottle of water. No room service. A 3 star hotel that is defo like a hostel. Doesn’t deserve even 1 star. Has a good location but unfortunately location is not always enough. Spend 1 hour to find an iron as was advised by the guy downstairs to check every floor and see if someone left it there. It was like a joke. Was told being lucky as the room was with balcony but you have to see what they mean by a balcony. Besides all, it was way expensive than many other real 3 and even 4 star hotels. I regret my stay here.

Very good
Small, Vertical, and Charming
My husband and I spent a few nights here on our honeymoon. As it is in Paris, the building is tall and skinny with a winding staircase. There is an elevator, but it is very tiny. It serves its purpose and was a big help with our luggage. The breakfast is modest and delicious. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. My French is minimal so it was helpful they spoke English. The location was wonderfully close to good restaurants that were open late and a metro station. We were there in a crazy heat wave and the A/C units were not equipped to combat the sweltering heat and humidity so our room did get really hot until well after the sun went down. I don't fault the hotel for that, though. Most of Paris is not set up for that kind of weather. A fan in the room would have been nice, but overall our stay was nice.

Not what earlier reviews suggested
We stayed 6 nights and chose this hotel because it was located close to family and the reviews were good. We are in our late 70's and found heaving a suitcase up a curving flight of stairs to the elevator onerous to say the least. The one staff on duty refused our request for assistance. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The facilities for hanging clothes was limited and there was no luggage rack. The room was noisy and it was very difficult to work the TV. The hotel is in need of some fresh paint and overall upgrading. Given the very positive reviews we were very disappointed - certainly it does not offer value for money in ou view.
