Do not recommend
When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. A lady appeared from the kitchen and she spoke zero English. I tried to communicate with her via Google translate to ask her if the hotel was opened, she shook her head. In the end, I found a number on the front door and called it. A young lady came, passed me the keys and let me be. I appear to be the only person staying there at the time. I saw no other guests. The room is rather run down and the floor was sandy. The shower only had cold water and at one point, the water stopped flowing. I had to wait a couple of minutes before trying again. I understand that this is a budget hotel but I really was not expecting a stay like this. Will not be returning to this hotel the next time I'm in Sapa.

Okay for a couple nights
Spent a few nights here earlier this month. Hotel has a great location, just a few minutes' walk from town, and was very quiet. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. We booked a day trek through them and we loved it. However, our first room was absolutely filled with mold, so we requested to be changed to another room which still had mold, but was much better. (Keeping in mind that it is very cool and humid here, and most buildings we went into all had visible mold.) The breakfast included in our stay were delicious - one of the best Pho we've had in Vietnam! For the money, this place is good on a backpacker's budget or if you're not wanting to spend much money on accomodations; want to be close to town yet in a quiet area.

Clean, quiet, helpful staff, and good food
It's clean-ish. Use their floor slippers please. No weird smells, and nice clean bed. The bathroom is weird because it doesn't have a vent so you have to leave the door open to let the bathroom dry out. Loved the little balcony that overlooks the valley, absolutely beautiful. On site restaurant was actually really really good, try their omelette!

Cheap and a small walk to restaurants
This hotel is good for a budget traveller but is not big on views. There is construction going on at the moment, but given there is a lot all over Sapa. We changed hotels because it was so loud. I got a room without a window and our friends had one that was right up against the side of a concrete building. Otherwise the staff are nice, pushy for tours/buses though. We found better elsewhere.

Find some where else.
I'm usually a very fair, and generous reviewer however when thinking of what to write in their favour here, I struggled big time. I'll give a run down of the bad things, and maybe by the end I'll have found something positive. When we arrived, there was no key for our room. The staff said they'd look for it, so we waited in our room for 45 mins before going back down the 4 flights of stairs (no elevator) to ask. The girl behind the counter seemingly hadn't been looking, as when I asked she acted like I'd jogged her memory. At this time, I also asked if we could get some laundry done. Three more times we went up and down the stairs after waiting, only to be told that the room would be safe to be left unlocked. Since we were on holiday, we decided not to mope around and worry (foolishly) and we went out to explore. Upon coming back some 6 hrs later, they STILL hadn't found a key. By this stage, we were furious. We went and sat in our room and started researching other hotels. A short while later, a tradesman turned up and it was apparent (not that this was explained at all by the staff) that he was replacing the lock. An hour passed, and the lock was replaced and we were finally given a key. We decided to shower and head to town for dinner, but there was one problem... the shower only pumped out cold water and only if you held the hand held shower head around waist height - not enough pressure in the system to use the rainhead. The smell from the toilet was horrific, and the

Hell hotel
Room was dusty beyond words. Sheets were not changed n i spent the whole night scratching. Constructions next door stopped only at midnight. Power supple was cut twice. Seems that this is a daily occurrence. If u do want to take a chance like i did, after reading negative reviews, be prepared for the worst then. I moved out the second day. I had to pay more than double to stay in Sapa Diamond Hotel but it was a piece of heaven in Sapa. Only 3 months old n equal to 4 stars at least in terms of service excellence and comfort. Totally worth the price paid. If i have to grade Stunning View, it will be terrible in all areas and zero stars. I wish i had taken photos to show you how bad it is. 2 other families were complaining when i was there.

Run down hotel
The hotel was run down and in need of upgrades. Handrail fell off when my daughter was walking up stairs. In the middle of the night a pipe bursted and there was water flooding the stairs. Our room was tied the wall paper on the walls was coming off. Our room was right on the street . There was constant noise from the street. It was hard to sleep.

The view is worth the extra price
We were greeted by friendly staff. The room is basic, spacious and comfortable. We paid a bit extra for a room with a view and it was worth it. Breakfast is made to order and quite tasty. Please note that there is a lot of construction in this area of Sapa, so if construction noise bothers you I'd advise to book elsewhere. The manager was apologetic for the noise, as if it were his fault, which was sweet. It was nice, however to be just outside of town overlooking the valley.

Friendly Staff~~
I went to Sapa for the Fansipan Climb and Vietnam Mountain Marathon, spent 3 nights at the hotel with my wife along. The staffs were friendly. We booked a room with balcony and mountain view and were given a room on the 3rd floor. The views are nice as well as the breakfast. The hotel located a little bit deep which is a small draw back as we have to walk a long way everyday to reach the town centre. However in overall for a budget hotel, that good services, good view and good breakfast worth every penny. The personnel greeted us every day and cheered for my completions in the conquest of Fansipan and Vietnam Mountain Marathon. We were booked a cab to the town centre for only USD 1.00 (actually not too far probably only 1 - 2KM but it could be hard if we are to move few luggages uphill) which seems quite reasonable.

Worth the money
NOTE: I was transferred to Stunning View hotel 2 (their sister hotel). i DID NOT stay at Sapa Stunning View Hotel. 1) I paid SG$32 for two nights. Got upgraded to a deluxe room with VALLEY view (mountain view means your face a mountain slope undergoing construction work). 2) Booked a one way hotel transfer from Lao Cai Train station and got the return trip as complementary (maybe because they transferred me to their sister hotel) 3) Breakfast spread was reasonable. No complains 4) Wifi did not work on our second night 5) Hot water did not work on the third day (the receptionist did try his best to fix it and warm water came through) Conclusion: For the price I paid ($16/ night), this is VERY WORTH THE MONEY. Friendly staff and the recommend complementary items made the stay pleasant.

Great view, Good price, OK room
The staff is friendly and the hotel is OK for the cost. Be aware, while it has a great view, the hotel is down a ways from the main part of Sapa meaning you have to walk 10 or so minutes to get to the center of town.

Disappointing
We accept that we stayed at the hotel when the weather was expectingly bad for the time of year, but we did find the room very cold and this was not helped by the 2.5cm gap under the door which was letting icy air in. Bathroom smelt very musty and needed replacing. The 2 guys on reception were OK and were keen to ensure we were OK but the rest were sullen and needed to improve their service. Good email communication prior to arriving. Breakfast is limited.

Amazing views from the top level of the hotel!
I stayed for two nights at this hotel, which is a nice little gem located away from the main tourist stretch in Sapa town. It's a bit of a walk, but the views are incredible, and the staff are friendly. enthusiastic, and helpful. It's an affordable place that is cozy if charming, and though the facilities are basic, everything is clean, comfortable, and more than enough for a satisfying exploration of the area. They will help you arrange affordable day trips to area sites such as the villages in Sapa Valley, the nearby waterfalls... and will recommend against a guided tour of Cat Cat since it's so close and not worth the extra cost. The young gentleman at the front desk is almost like a concierge, being able to recommend restaurants that locals frequent, and thus avoiding a more tourist-based experience. The prices are excellent, and it's worth booking the top level, with access to the terrace with panoramic views.

Wonderful Hotel in a nice part of Sapa Town
We had a lovely stay at Sapa Stunning view. The staff was wonderful and attentive, even gave great recommendations on places to eat. The hotel itself was nice and cosy. They had just about everything you could want (in house masseuse, motor bikes for rent, ect.) and they made our stay hassle-free. Just what we needed after two days of trekking.

Comfortable hotel, nice staff, quite far
After some minutes booking this hotel, the staff emailed me and asked if I need further service or pre-prequirements. I did ask them to book bus tickets (round trip), motorbike rental and room with mountain view. They sent feedback really quick, upgrade to a mountain view room (+ 3$/night) and bought us bus tickets (really comfortable shuttle from Hanoi to Sapa). Room was quite clean, bed was comfortable (with temperature heating ability). However, you will need to walk 10 minutes to the market (which is not comfortable for oldies or in a cold night). Overall, we were pleased staying in this hotel and will come back again if possible.
