Touch of Luxury
Excellent and frequent communication pre-stay. Warmly greeted upon arrival, shown around the facility before being led to glorious Garden Courtyard room on lower floor. Very spacious room with either side of the bed having direct access to bathroom facilities, robes, ironing facilities and tea making facilities behind the bed head panel. Either side of bed had nooks for necessities, lamps with usb outlets, very convenient. A range of pillow types on offer. Gift chocolates on coffee table. Turn down service included heating being turned on, a tray with Islington dream tea, teapot, cups and little cake treats. Strolling around the meandering garden and water feature was delightful. There were places to sit and take in the ambience and enjoy watching the birdlife. Free access to a games room, library, sitting room. Beautiful dining area for a scrumptious breakfast, made to order by the chef whom could be seen from the open gallery kitchen. Good quality all round. Little treats were on the long bench table in front of kitchen that guests could partake of at any time with a barista service available. Bar facilities and service available up until 9.00pm. A book has been produced about the history of Islington dating back to the early 1800s. The grounds and the building are beautifully presented. Care has been taken in all aspects of the service to ensure guests have the best experience. Additional services are available if you want extra special experiences. We will visit again.

This is a truly beautiful property, if your looking for attention to detail and top service this is the place to stay we stayed at the Islington off peak so we felt like we were the only people in the place which was nice but equally would be a very enjoyable experience having the bustle of extra guest. The food was exceptional

An absolutely gorgeous home away from home, the breakfast was of the highest quality and the staff were fantastic and looked after all our needs. The gardens are worth spending some time in as well.

Disappointed in the “Regency Room” - no outlook and room door opens to the back of the kitchen. Not well described and at over $700 definitely not worth the money. Dining option on the one night we ate there confusing with one main course not as described and very limited food and wine choices.

Unique property for a private experience , very peaceful and beautiful place to stay. The stay would have been great if the restaurant dinner service is not per-order and planned in advance. We had to go out and get dinner every night .

The best place to stay in Tasmania if you are looking for luxury, privacy and a short ride out of the centre of the CBD. Extra helpful, accommodating, and friendly staff, amazing furnishings and art, and the comfiest beds in Tasmania. We have stayed in multiple high end accommodations across Tassie, and The Islington is by far our favourite.

The property is outstanding for the art, decor and room cleanliness. I love that there is no reception, rather a more intimate 'home' feeling.

A wonderful stay with great ambience.
Really a wonderful stay for 4 nights. The room is large and well catered for longer stays. The staff was impeccable in their service. The only issue was that it is out of town and without a car there is an extra cost for transport. But for a 8 minute taxi hire or 22 minute walk it’s wasn’t a major issue. Very much recommend a stay at Islington Hotel.
